“José de Egipto” (Joseph of Egypt) Grows Its Audience by Double-Digit Margins

In the current week, Univision was the No. 1 Spanish-language network among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49. Univision posted double-digit percentage advantages over its competitor among Total Viewers 2+ (+21%) and averaged +2% more Adults 18-49.

  • 2016/2017 season to-date, Univision continues to be the No. 1 Spanish-language network among Total Viewers 2+, outperforming its closest Spanish-language competitor for thirteen consecutive weeks.

Univision finished the week as the No. 5 broadcast network among Adults 18-34, ahead of FOX (+8%).

In its second week on air, Univision’s new series “José de Egipto” (Joseph of Egypt), helped Univision rank as the No. 4 broadcast network during the Monday-Friday 8pm hour, beating FOX (+18%) with Adults 18-34.

  • Week-to-week, “José de Egipto” (Joseph of Egypt) grew its audience by double-digit margins, attracting 2.0 million Total Viewers 2+ (+19%), 806,000 Adults 18-49 (+21%) and 355,000 Adults 18-34 (+32%).  “José de Egipto” was also the top Spanish-language pick among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 for the weekday 8pm hour.

“La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo” (The Double Life of Estela Carrillo) helped Univision rank as the No. 4 broadcast network beating FOX among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 during the Monday-Friday 9pm hour. Univision posted double-digit percentage advantage over FOX (+31%) with Adults 18-34 and attracted +8% more Adults 18-49. “La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo” also grew its audience week-to-week, averaging 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ (+5%), 742,000 Adults 18-49 (+6%) and 304,000 Adults 18-34 (+4%).

Weeknights from 10pm to 11pm, Univision was the No. 4 broadcast network among Adults 18-34, beating CBS by +7%.

  • The Monday night finale of “La Piloto” (The Pilot) reached 3.1 million Total Viewers 2+. The one hour telecast averaged 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 888,000 Adults 18-49 and 347,000 Adults 18-34.
  • Premiering in the 10pm hour on Tuesday night, “Rosario Tijeras” averaged 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 521,000 Adults 18-49 and 219,000 Adults 18-34 for the week.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-Language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49.

  • On Monday night, Univision outperformed CBS (+58%) and FOX (+28%) as the No. 3 broadcast network among Adults 18-34. Among Adults 18-49, Univision beat CBS by (+18%), ranking No. 4 for the night. This marks the fifth consecutive Monday that Univision out-delivered CBS among Adults 18-34 and the second consecutive Monday with Adults 18-49.
    • Univision outperformed FOX with both Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49 on Tuesday night.
      • With Adults 18-49, Univision delivered more viewers than FOX (+31%) for the night.
      • Univision ranked No. 4 with Adults 18-34, averaging significantly more Adults 18-34 viewers of FOX (+84%) and CBS (+22%).
    • On Wednesday night Univision held the No. 3 network position among Adults 18-34, beating ABC for the fifth consecutive week. Furthermore, Univision posted double-digit advantages over NBC (+22%) and ABC (+57%) with Adult 18-34. Univision also out-delivered ABC (+2%) with Adults 18-49.
    • On Friday night, Univision out-delivered FOX with Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, ranking as the No. 4 broadcast network.
      • With Adults 18-49, Univision beat FOX by +25%. Univision also held a double-digit percentage advantage over FOX (+64%) and CBS (+39%) among Adults 18-34.
      • In the current season, Univision is the top pick over FOX among Adults 18-34. Univision attracted more Adults 18-34 viewers than FOX on 32 out of 41 Friday nights, 78% of the nights this season-to-date.
    • Univision was the No. 3 broadcast network on Saturday night with Adults 18-49 and No. 2 with Adults 18-34, beating ABC and CBS in both demographics.
      • Among Adults 18-49 Univision delivered nearly double the audience of CBS (+90%) and averaged +24% more Adults 18-49 viewers than ABC.
      • Univision maintained double-digit percentage advantages over ABC (+82%) and FOX (+23%) with Adults 18-34 and tripled the audience of CBS (+285%) for the night.
