WHAT: From the creators of “Moises y Los Diez Mandamientos” (Moses and the Ten Commandments), “José de Egipto” (Joseph of Egypt) tells the story of a young boy with a prophetic gift that will help save an entire empire. Filmed in the most stunning locations around the world, this mega-production from Brazil tells an uplifting tale about love, sibling rivalry and forgiveness.
Inspired by the book of Genesis, this compelling series tells the story of Joseph (Ângelo Paes Leme), a “miracle son” of Rachel, a woman unable to conceive and the most beloved wife of Jacob (Celso Frateschi), who is already an old man when his son is born. Joseph soon becomes Jacob’s favorite son, causing his brothers to despise him.
At the age of 17, Joseph developed the gift of interpreting dreams. He had two dreams that predicted his family bowing down to him. When he recounted these dreams to his brothers, they grew to despise him even more and later failed at an attempted plot to kill him. Fueled by jealousy over his prophetic abilities and his favored position, his half-brothers later sold him into slavery. Yet, as predicted in his dreams, he rose to become the second most powerful man in Egypt next to the Pharaoh. When there is a famine in his village, Jacob sends his sons to Egypt in search of food. Upon arriving before the respected governor of Egypt, Jacob’s sons do not recognize him as their brother under his Egyptian clothing, but Joseph recognizes them and he is forced to hide his deep pain, almost twenty years after their betrayal. Now, only Joseph can save the brothers who made him suffer so much in the past.

QUÉ: “José de Egipto”, de los creadores de “Moisés y los diez mandamientos”, cuenta la historia de un muchacho con un don profético que ayudará a salvar todo un imperio. Filmada en impactantes escenarios alrededor del mundo, esta superproducción brasileña narra un relato inspirador de amor, rivalidad fraternal y perdón.
Inspirada en el libro de Génesis, esta interesante serie cuenta la historia de José (Ângelo Paes Leme), el “hijo milagroso” del anciano Jacob (Celso Frateschi) y su querida esposa Raquel, quien no había podido concebir. José pasa a ser el hijo predilecto de Jacob rápidamente, lo que hace que sus hermanos lo odien.
A los 17 años, surge en José el don de interpretar sueños. Tiene dos sueños que pronostican que su familia se doblegará ante él. Cuando se los relata a sus hermanos, lo aborrecen y luego confabulan para matarlo, pero fracasan. Sus medios hermanos, celosos por sus habilidades proféticas y por ser preferido, deciden venderlo como esclavo. Sin embargo, como predijo en sus sueños, José llega a ocupar el segundo lugar entre los poderosos de Egipto, tras el faraón. Cuando hay una hambruna en la aldea, Jacob manda a sus hijos a Egipto en busca de alimentos. Tras llegar ante el respetado gobernador de Egipto, los hijos de Jacob no se dan cuenta de que es su hermano, pues viste como egipcio. Pero José los reconoce y se ve forzado a esconder su profundo dolor, casi 20 años después de la traición. Ahora, solo José puede salvar a los hermanos que lo hicieron sufrir tanto en el pasado.
