Univision Continues Winning Streak, Outperforming Closest Spanish-Language Competitor by Double-Digit Margins Across Key Demographics in Overall Prime Time

Among Adults 18-34, Univision Finishes as No. 4 Network Beating CBS for the Week, and No. 2 Ahead of CBS and ABC on Weeknights at 10 p.m.

In the current 2016/2017 season, Univision continues to be the No. 1 Spanish-language network among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 as well as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime with Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-34.

  • For the week, Univision outperformed its closest Spanish-Language competitor among Total Viewers 2+ (+38%), Adults 18-49 (+26%) and Adults 18-34 (+31%).

Univision finished the week as the No. 4 Broadcast network, besting CBS (+4%) for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-34.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-Language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-34 and two nights with Adults 18-49.

  • For the third consecutive Monday night, Univision was the No. 3 Broadcast network among Adults 18-34, ahead of CBS (+25%) and FOX (+5%). In fact, Univision has out-delivered FOX among Adults 18-34 for the past 10 consecutive Monday nights.
  • On Tuesday night, Univision ranked No. 4 among Adults 18-34, beating both ABC (+24%) and CBS (+42%).
  • Univision out-delivered NBC (+14%) and FOX (+27%) by double-digit margins on Thursday night, ranking as the No. 4 Broadcast network among Adults 18-34.
  • For the second consecutive Friday night, Univision was the No. 1 Broadcast network among Adults 18-34 and ranked No. 4 with Adults 18-49.
    • Among Adults 18-34, Univision beat ABC (+81%), NBC (+26%) and FOX (+81%) by double-digit margins.
    • Season to-date, Univision out-ranks FOX on Friday nights, averaging more Adults 18-34 viewers than FOX for the last 19 consecutive Friday nights.
    • Univision beat FOX by +23% among Adults 18-49, out-delivering FOX for the eleventh consecutive Friday night.
  • For the second consecutive Saturday night, Univision held the No. 2 broadcast network rank among Adults 18-34 and attracted more Adults 18-34 than ABC (+46%), CBS (+38%) and FOX (+107%). Airing back-to-back Liga MX soccer matches, significantly outperformed ABC (+27%) and FOX (+86%) as the No. 3 Broadcast network among Adults 18-49.
  • On Sunday night, Univision beat CBS with Adults 18-34 (+18%) to rank as the No. 4 broadcast network for the night.
    • At 7pm, “Al Punto” attracted 1.0 Million Total Viewers 2+, 415,000 Adults 18-49 and 180,000 young Adults 18-34.
    • Airing from 8pm to 10pm, “El Chapo,” the story of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán, averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 776,000 Adults 18-49 and 318,000 Adults 18-34.
    • Following at 10pm, “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now) delivered 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 740,000 Adults 18-49 and 292,000 Adults 18-34. The 10pm telecast helped Univision outperform ABC and CBS in the 10pm hour, to rank No. 2 among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Airing weekdays on Univision…

  • In its second week airing Monday-Thursday at 8pm, “La Reina de la Canción” (The Queen of the Song) grew its Total Viewers 2+ audience by +4%, averaging 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+. “La Reina de la Canción” also attracted 691,000 Adults 18-49 and 297,000 Adults 18-34 viewers.
  • Univision’s “Vino El Amor” (Then Came Love) grew its audience week-to-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+1% to 2.2 Million), Adults 18-49 (+1% to 891,000) and Adults 18-34 (+4% to 397,000). “Vino El Amor” made Univision the fourth most watched broadcast network with Adults 18-34 in the weeknight 9pm hour, ahead of CBS (+4%).
  • Univision was the No. 2 broadcast network among Adults 18-34, ahead of ABC (+32%) and CBS (+48%) during the weeknight 10pm to 11pm hour. Airing “La Piloto” (The Pilot), Univision attracted 1.8 Million Total Viewers 2+, 814,000 Adults 18-49 and 379,000 Adults 18-34.
