Tournament Heads to Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate Sports Field Complex Where 16 Teams will Compete for First-Ever Title
UCI Live today announced that Kissimmee, Florida would serve as the inaugural host city of Prospects Cup, a new youth soccer tournament coming to Univision Deportes Network in December 2017. Youth athletes joined Univision personalities Jackie Guerrido and Hristo Stoichkov, EVP of UCI Enterprise Development Rick Alessandri, and President and CEO of Experience Kissimmee DT Minich for the announcement at the Omni Orlando Resort ChampionsGate Sports Field Complex on Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
NEW YORK –APRIL 18, 2017– Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America, today announced that UCI Live – its in-house live event and experiential marketing unit – has selected Kissimmee, Florida as the host city for Prospects Cup. This first-ever international youth soccer tournament will be held at the world-class Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate Sports Field Complex from December 18-22, 2017.
UCI Live conducted a formal bid process starting last December that resulted in significant interest from locations across the United States to host the landmark global U-12 soccer event. Beginning today, Experience Kissimmee, the destination marketing organization for Osceola County, will collaborate with UCI Live to bring Prospects Cup to the city later this year.

The round-robin tournament will include 16 teams of boys 12-years or younger in groups and two divisions. Games will be played in three elimination rounds. The group winners of each division, based upon cumulative points, will advance to the semifinals. The division runners-up will play in the Consolation Final and the division titleholders will face off in the Prospects Cup championship match.
Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports division of UCI, will broadcast Prospects Cup from December 18 through December 22 on UDN (Univision Deportes Network), the most-watched Spanish-language cable sports network and preferred destination for fútbol fans in the U.S.

UCI Live realizó un proceso formal de licitación que se inició en diciembre y generó mucho interés por parte de varias ciudades en todo Estados Unidos por convertirse en la sede de este importante evento mundial de fútbol Sub-12. A partir de hoy, Experience Kissimmee, organismo responsable del mercadeo de destino para el condado de Osceola, colaborará con UCI Live para llevar Prospects Cup a la ciudad a fin de año.

El torneo tipo round-robin incluirá a 16 equipos de muchachos de 12 años o menores en grupos y dos divisiones. Se jugarán partidos en tres rondas eliminatorias. Los ganadores de los grupos en cada división, en base a puntos acumulados, pasarán a las semifinales. Los subcampeones de división jugarán en las Finales de Consolación y los campeones de división se enfrentarán en el partido decisivo del campeonato Prospects Cup.
Univision Deportes, la división de deportes en medios múltiples de UCI, trasmitirá la Prospects Cup del 18 al 22 de diciembre por UDN (Univision Deportes Network), la cadena deportiva de cable de mayor sintonía en español y el destino preferido de los fans del fútbol en los Estados Unidos.
