Tryouts for the next Diva of regional Mexican music to be held in cities coast-to-coast beginning October 1
MIAMI, FL – SEPTEMBER 22, 2016 – Women hoping to become the next Latina superstar in the Regional Mexican music genre will soon have the opportunity to audition for Univision Network’s new program “La Reina de la Canción” (Queen of the Song). This all-new competition is not only searching for the next great female superstar, but is also celebrating the myriad accomplishments of Latina women in the U.S. by giving voice to their hopes and dreams.
Francisca Lachapel from Univision’s hit morning program “Despierta América” (Wake Up America) will be participating in the auditions as she will be one of the celebrity cast members for the show. The superstar host for “La Reina de la Canción,” which will make its debut in 2017, will be revealed later this year.
“La Reina de la Canción” is an original multimedia talent competition that allows viewers to help discover the next great female singer in the Regional Mexican music genre. Much more than a singing competition, the show will feature musical performances by top artists, contestants’ physical and emotional transformations, their struggles, loves, plans and dreams of becoming the next Latina superstar.
The season will start with up to 60 contestants selected through auditions to be held across the U.S. according to the following schedule:

To take part in the auditions, aspiring stars must be over 18 years of age, fluent in Spanish and be prepared to sing at least 3 of the songs listed on the official website. If chosen as a finalist, participants must be available to reside in Miami during the length of their participation in the program. Over the course of the season, the number of contestants will gradually be narrowed to four finalists, from whom the new Queen of Mexican Regional music will be selected during the show’s season finale.

UNIVISION ANUNCIA LAS FECHAS DE LAS AUDICIONES ABIERTAS AL PÚBLICO PARA LA NUEVA COMPETENCIA DE CANTO “LA REINA DE LA CANCIÓN”
Las audiciones para encontrar a la siguiente Diva de la Música Regional Mexicana tendrán lugar de costa a costa desde el 1 de octubre
MIAMI, FL – 22 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 2016 – Las cantantes que aspiran a ser la siguiente superestrella latina del género de música regional mexicana tendrán la oportunidad de una audición para el nuevo programa “La Reina de la Canción” de la Cadena Univision. Esta competencia totalmente nueva no solo busca a la siguiente diva, sino que también celebrará los múltiples logros de las mujeres latinas en los Estados Unidos, al darles una voz a sus esperanzas y sueños.
Francisca Lachapel del popular programa matutino “Despierta América” participará en las audiciones ya que será parte del elenco de estrellas que presentarán el programa. El presentador de “La Reina de la Canción”, que se estrenará en el año 2017, será una superestrella, y su identidad se revelará este año.
“La Reina de la Canción” es una original competencia de talento en medios múltiples que permite que los espectadores ayuden a descubrir a la siguiente diva del género de música regional mexicana. Más que un concurso de canto, el programa incluirá actuaciones de populares músicos, transformaciones físicas y emotivas de las concursantes, sus esfuerzos, amores, planes y sueños de convertirse en la siguiente superestrella latina.
La temporada empezará con 60 concursantes seleccionadas en las audiciones, que tendrán lugar en todo Estados Unidos según el siguiente calendario:
