MIAMI – SEPTEMBER 21, 2016 – Univision News announces its plans for LIVE all-platform coverage of the first presidential debate of the 2016 election, which will take place at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York on Monday, September 26 at 9:00 pm ET/ 8:00 pm CT/ 6:00 pm PT. “Clinton vs. Trump – El Debate,” a special broadcast hosted by Univision News’ award-winning anchors Jorge Ramos and María Elena Salinas, will give Hispanic America a front row seat at the most anticipated presidential debate in recent U.S. history, in addition to providing post- debate commentary and analysis.
The presidential debate will be broadcast LIVE with simultaneous Spanish translation on the Univision Network, Univision.com, the Univision and Univision Noticias apps, Facebook.com/UnivisionPolítica, UnivisionNOW, Univision Noticias’ YouTube channel, Periscope, and Snapchat Live; it will also live stream in English on Univision.com.
Ramos and Salinas, along with a team of journalists, political analysts, and high profile guests will be stationed at Univision News’ state-of-the-art Election Center in Miami. In a special half-hour show beginning immediately after the debate, they will analyze every angle of the historic event, the candidates’ replies, and their possible repercussions on the presidential race.
During the course of the debate, Univision will put the candidates’ statements to the test with diligent fact checking to ensure that viewers are well informed. The audience will also be able to engage with the broadcast via a unique second-screen experience that will show their opinions on screen in real time. Furthermore, the pulse of voters in the crucial swing state of Florida will be gauged through a representative sample of Florida voters who will watch the debate live at the Univision News Election Center and register their reactions via a poll conducted on their mobile devices in real time.

In addition to live streaming the complete debate in Spanish and English, Univision News will deliver extensive reporting and multimedia content across its digital and social platforms prior to, during, and after the event.
