MIAMI – JUNE 8, 2015 – Univision News, the award-winning news division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America, announced that Patsy Loris has been promoted to senior vice president, News and senior news director. In this role, she will continue to oversee Univision News’ evening and late-night newscasts and their weekend editions, all news segments for “Despierta América” (Wake Up America), and the operations of Univision News, reporting to Daniel Coronell, executive vice president & executive director of News.
Loris, who joined the Univision family in 1988, was named vice president of News in 2013. That same year, she played a key role in the launch of Fusion, working closely with ABC in the development of show concepts and in the hiring of personnel for the network’s news team. Prior to that she was senior News director for Univision, a post she continues to hold today.
Under her leadership, Univision News has earned some of the most prestigious awards in journalism, including Peabody Awards, Walter Cronkite Awards, and King of Spain Journalism Awards, among others. Additionally, as a producer, Loris has been recognized with an Edward R. Murrow Award, two national Emmys and one regional Emmy.
During the course of her distinguished career in broadcast journalism, Loris has traveled the globe to cover the most important news stories, as well as secured interviews with many influential world leaders. In 2007, she created and produced “Al Punto with Jorge Ramos,” Univision’s highly rated Sunday morning public affairs program.

Univision PROMUEVE A PATSY LORIS A VICEPRESIDENTA PRINCIPAL DE NOTICIAS
MIAMI – 8 DE JUNIO DE 2015 – Noticias Univision, la galardonada división de noticias de Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), la principal empresa de medios de comunicación al servicio de la comunidad hispana en los Estados Unidos, anunció que Patsy Loris ha sido ascendida a vicepresidenta principal de Noticias y directora principal de noticias. En este rol, continuará estando a cargo del Noticiero Univision en sus ediciones vespertinas, nocturnas y de fin de semana, de los segmentos de noticias del programa “Despierta América” y de las operaciones de Noticias Univision. Seguirá reportándose a Daniel Coronell, vicepresidente ejecutivo y director ejecutivo de Noticias.
Loris, quien se incorporó a la familia Univision en 1988, fue nombrada vicepresidenta de Noticias en 2013. Ese mismo año desempeñó un papel clave en el lanzamiento de Fusion, trabajando de cerca con ABC en el desarrollo de conceptos para los programas y en la contratación de personal para el equipo de noticias del canal. Antes de eso era directora principal de Noticias, cargo que sigue ejerciendo actualmente.
Bajo su liderazgo, Noticias Univision ha ganado premios periodísticos de gran prestigio como el Premio Peabody, el Walter Cronkite Award a la Excelencia en Periodismo Político Televisivo y el Premio Rey de España, entre otros. Adicionalmente, como productora, Loris ha sido reconocida con un galardón Edward R. Murrow, dos Emmys nacionales y un Emmy regional.
A lo largo de su distinguida carrera en el periodismo televisivo, Loris ha recorrido el mundo para dar cobertura a los más importantes sucesos nacionales e internacionales, y además ha conseguido numerosas entrevistas con influyentes líderes políticos mundiales. En 2007, creó y produjo “Al Punto con Jorge Ramos”, el exitoso programa informativo que se transmite cada domingo por la cadena Univision.
