WHAT: As part of Univision Contigo’s education initiative, Univision Network will air its latest education special titled, “¡Entérate!: Nuevos Exámenes Escolares” (Get Informed! New Academic Assessments), which will provide information to parents on the significant changes in teaching and learning that their children are experiencing under the new academic standards rolling out across most U.S. school districts. Hosted by co-anchor of Univision’s “Primer Impacto” (First Impact) Pamela Silva Conde, the one-hour special will be broadcast nationally on Sunday, April 12 at 4 p.m. ET/PT (3 p.m. CT).
¡Entérate! will delve deeper into the new academic standards, known in a majority of states as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and the changes taking place in schools across the country, specifically the new exams currently being administered. Silva Conde will interview Doctor Andres Antonio Alonso from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, who will explain different aspects of CCSS and guide parents through the transition to the higher educational standards. Throughout the show, local news anchors from Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix and the Bay Area will hear from those on the frontlines of the transition to the new standards – teachers, parents and students – on their experience with the changes.

QUÉ: Comoparte de la iniciativa educativa Univision Contigo, la Cadena Univision trasmitirá su más reciente especial de educación, titulado, “¡Entérate!: Nuevos exámenes escolares”, que informará a los padres de familia sobre cambios significativos a la enseñanza y el aprendizaje para los niños con nuevos estándares académicos que se están poniendo en práctica en gran parte de los distritos escolares de Estados Unidos. El especial de una hora, presentado por Pamela Silva Conde, copresentadora de “Primer Impacto” de Univision,se trasmitiráen todo el país el domingo, 12 de abril a las 4 p.m. hora del Este/Pacífico (3 p.m. Centro).
¡Entérate! analizará a fondo los nuevos estándares académicos, conocidos en la mayoría de los estados como Common Core State Standards (CCSS), y los cambios que se están produciendo en escuelas en todo el país, específicamente los nuevos exámenes que se están usando. Silva Conde entrevistará al Dr. Andrés Antonio Alonso de la Facultad de Posgrado de Educación de Harvard, quien explicará los diferentes aspectos del CCSS y guiará a los padres durante la transición a estándares educativos más altos. Durante todo el programa, presentadores de noticias locales en Chicago, Los Ángeles, Phoenix y la Bahía de San Francisco oirán de las personas en el frente de la transición a los nuevos estándares –maestros, padres de familia y estudiantes– sobre su experiencia con los cambios.
