Michelle Renaud, Pablo Lyle, Susana González, René Strickler, Alexis Ayala, Alejandra Barros and Thelma Madrigal come together in a story that pits young love against old betrayals
“La Sombra del Pasado” premieres on February 16 at 7p.m. ET/PT (6p.m. CT) on the Univision Network
WHAT: The Univision Network announces the premiere of “La Sombra del Pasado,” (The Shadow of the Past) a passionate, multi-generational saga of the forbidden love that emerges between two families locked in conflict. The primetime novela will premiere February 16.
This is the story of Raymundo Alcocer (Rene Strickler), who owns the estate called “Santuario.” There is a beautiful waterfall that is a point of contention between Raymundo’s family and the rich, despotic family of Severiano Mendoza (Alexis Ayala). Raymundo is a good, humble and hardworking man, but his wife Roberta (Susana González) is unhappy with her life and desires more. She seizes upon Severiano’s reckless lust for her and begins an affair with him, which ultimately results in the death of her husband Raymundo.
Raymundo’s daughter Aldonza Alcocer (Michelle Renaud) is beautiful, intelligent, and generous, though ostracized for her father’s death and her mother’s recklessness. As a young woman, Aldonza becomes enamored with Cristóbal (Pablo Lyle), the son of Severianoand his wife Candela (Alejandra Barros). Cristóbal is a passionate and brave young man, willing to lay down his life for what he loves. Though he spent his youth studying in the capital, he returns to Santa Lucía, where he meets Aldonza and falls deeply in love with her, despite her reputation as an outcast. When Cristóbal decides to leave for Spain, the lovers are separated.
While Aldonza has been pursuing her studies at the university, her mother dies due to her decadent lifestyle. When Aldonza returns home to bury her mother with her father, she reencounters Cristóbal, newly arrived from Spain and engaged to Valentina (Thelma Madrigal). The same love that brought them together in the past will reemerge stronger than ever. Though their love is forbidden by friends and enemies alike, when two souls in love meet, even the shadows of the past cannot come between them.

QUÉ: Univision anuncia el estreno de “La Sombra del Pasado”, una apasionada saga multi-generacional sobre el amor prohibido que nace entre dos familias que se odian por un conflicto del pasado. La telenovela se transmitirá en horario estelar comenzando 16 de febrero.
Esta es la historia de Raymundo Alcocer (René Strickler) el dueño de los terrenos del “Santuario”, donde está una preciosa cascada que es la manzana de la discordia entre dos familias; la familia de Raymundo y la de Severiano Mendoza (Alexis Ayala) un hombre rico y déspota. Raymundo es un buen hombre, humilde, trabajador y serio, pero su esposa Roberta (Susana Gonzalez) es una mujer acomplejada y ambiciosa que no es feliz con su vida y desea tener más, por lo que se aprovecha de la atracción que Severiano siente por ella y se convierte en su amante, desatando una situación trágica que conlleva a la muere su esposo Raymundo.
La hija de Raymundo, Aldonza Alcocer (Michelle Renaud) es hermosa, inteligente y generosa, aunque ha sido marcada por la muerte de su padre y las indiscreciones de su madre. Siendo una adolescente, Aldonza se enamora de Cristóbal (Pablo Lyle), el hijo de Severiano Mendoza y Candela (Alejandra Barrios). Cristóbal es un joven apasionado, bravío, capaz de dar la vida por lo que ama. La mayor parte de su infancia la pasó estudiando en la capital, pero regresa a “Santa Lucía”, en donde conoce a Aldonza y se enamora de ella, a pesar de su reputación, pero ambos enamorados se separan cuando Cristóbal decide irse a España.
Por otro ladoAldonza se va a estudiar a la universidad, mientras que su madre, sigue con sus excesos los cuales la llevan a la muerte. Es entonces cuando Aldonza decide regresar a casa para enterrar a su madre junto a su padre. Ahí se reencuentra con Cristóbal quien ha vuelto de España comprometido con Valentina (Thelma Madrigal), sin embargo la llama del amor que los unió en el pasado revivirá más fuerte que nunca. Éste es un amor prohibido que sus seres más queridos y enemigos intentarán evitar a toda cuesta, pero cuando dos almas enamoradas se unen, no habrá nadie que pueda interponerse en su camino.
