The Multi-Media Powerhouse Wins in Seven Categories
María Elena Salinas, Co-anchor of “Noticiero Univision” Takes Top Honor, the Broadcast Legend Award
LOS ANGELES – JANUARY 29, 2015 – Univision News, the award-winning News division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), celebrates a number of important wins, including the coveted Broadcast Legend Award, during the 65th annual Golden Mike Awards®. The Radio & Television News Association of Southern California (RTNA) awarded UCI with seven awards across a number of categories at its prestigious ceremony highlighting excellence in broadcast journalism. This year, María Elena Salinas, co-anchor of Univision Network’s “Noticiero Univision” and the weekly primetime newsmagazine “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now) became the first female and first Hispanic to be bestowed the Broadcast Legend Award.
The local news team at KMEX Univision 34 in Los Angeles was recognized for excellence in various categories including reporting, videography and news specials. Based on the most recent sweeps period, KMEX Univision 34 delivered the No.1 early local newscast and the No. 1 late local newscast among Adults 18 – 49. KMEX Univision 34 also had the No. 1 most-watched early local newscast in the country among Adults 18-49, regardless of language.

(UCI), está celebrando una serie de victorias importantes, incluido el codiciado premio a profesional legendario de la difusión (Broadcast Legend Award), en la 65ta edición anual de los Golden Mike Awards®. La Radio & Television News Association of Southern California (RTNA) otorgó a UCI siete premios en varias categorías durante su prestigiosa ceremonia, que destaca la excelencia en el periodismo de difusión. KMEX Univision 34 también fue el noticiero local vespertino de mayor sintonía en el país entre Adultos 18-49, independientemente de idioma.
