Executive Leadership

Olek Lowenstein

President of Global Sports

Olek Loewenstein is President of Global Sports at TelevisaUnivision, the world’s leading Spanish-language media company. In this role, Loewenstein oversees all sports operations across the U.S., Mexico and international markets, including content, production, distribution, and sports rights acquisitions.

Loewenstein’s tenure has positioned TelevisaUnivision as the home for sports viewing among Hispanics, powered by TUDN, the company’s multiplatform Spanish-language sports division. He oversees an extensive portfolio of Spanish-language soccer rights, including Liga MX, Liga MX Femenil, FIFA World Cup in Mexico, Leagues Cup, UEFA Champions and Europa League, Mexican Men’s and Women’s National Teams, CONCACAF Nations League, 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, CONCACAF Champions Cup, UEFA European Qualifiers and United Soccer League.

In 2024, he brokered TelevisaUnivision’s first partnership with Major League Baseball, bringing a sport deeply rooted in Latin culture to U.S. Hispanic audiences. Loewenstein also manages Super Bowl and Olympics coverage in Mexico, delivering high-quality production that consistently achieves record viewership. Under his leadership, Univision broadcast Super Bowl LVIII in Spanish for the first time, setting a record as the most-watched Spanish-language Super Bowl broadcast in the U.S.

Prior to the TelevisaUnivision merger, he was the architect of the TUDN collaboration between Univision and Grupo Televisa, resulting in a completely unique and highly effective joint production arrangement between the two Spanish language media giants.

Under his leadership, TUDN generates more than 13,000 hours of live events across TV and streaming, and 4,000 hours of studio shows each year.

Prior to joining TelevisaUnivision, Loewenstein served as Samsung’s Global Strategy Group in Seoul, South Korea. There, he worked directly with the office of the Chairman developing and overseeing strategic initiatives around the world. His career began in consulting with Ernst & Young and Accenture, where he focused on consumer relationship management strategies and organic growth initiatives.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Loewenstein has received multiple Emmy awards, and was named to Sports Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” class of 2018.

Loewenstein holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Universidad Católica Andres Bello in Venezuela and a master’s degree in business administration from INSEAD in France and Singapore. He also earned a specialization certificate in media from UCLA & IESE.
