Alfonso de Angoitia Noriega

Executive Chairman & Co-CEO, TelevisaUnivision Mexico

Alfonso de Angoitia Noriega is the Executive Chairman of TelevisaUnivision, Inc., the world’s leading Spanish-language media company, and Co-CEO of TelevisaUnivision Mexico. In his role, de Angoitia sets the strategic direction of TelevisaUnivision and oversees its implementation, while working closely with the board of directors and providing guidance and support to senior executives within the organization.

De Angoitia’s career spans over 25 years, including more than 20 years with Grupo Televisa, the premier cable TV operator and satellite pay television system in Mexico.

During his tenure as Executive Vice President of Administration and Finance and subsequently as the Co-CEO of Grupo Televisa, the company achieved remarkable success. Prior to its merger with Univision, Grupo Televisa emerged as one of the most successful and fastest-growing telecommunications companies in Mexico. De Angoitia also led an initiative to consolidate Mexico’s cable industry, which set the standard and became the most celebrated cable system in Latin America.

A visionary in the industry, de Angoitia propelled Grupo Televisa’s diversification, strategic positioning, profitability, and financial strength and, as Co-CEO, he also helped spearhead the transformation and repositioning of Televisa’s content properties.

Aside from serving as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of TelevisaUnivision, Inc., de Angoitia is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fundación Kardias, a Mexican nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of care of children who suffer from congenital heart defects. He also held positions in the boards of the Mexican Foundation for Health, the UNAM Foundation, and the Paley Center for Media.

Prior to joining Grupo Televisa, de Angoitia worked as an attorney at White & Case LLP in New York City, and then co-founded Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes, one of the top law firms in Mexico.

De Angoitia attained his law degree from the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
