The documentary highlights adventurer David Liaño González from training to the execution of the epic journey from the waters of Chile to the highest point of the Andes Mountains
MIAMI, SEPTEMBER 18, 2024 – ViX, the leading Spanish-language streaming service in the world, announced today that the adventure and extreme sports documentary, EL DESAFÍO IMPOSIBLE – LA CUMBRE DE LOS 7000 METROS, will premiere exclusively on ViX’s premium plan on September 26.
The original ViX film is presented by adventurer David Liaño González, one of the most accomplished explorers to ever exist. He has climbed Everest 7 times, is the youngest to complete the 7 summits, has ascended eight peaks over 8,000 meters, sailed solo over 30,000 nautical miles, run across the Sahara Desert, biked through the Himalayas, and much more.
EL DESAFÍO IMPOSIBLE – LA CUMBRE DE LOS 7000 METROS is a documentary that explores David’s next great adventure: to be the first person to achieve a 7,000-meter ascent in the Southern Hemisphere. But the way he intends to accomplish this feat is what makes this journey truly impossible.
The highest mountain in the Southern Hemisphere is Aconcagua in Argentina, which stands at 6,960 meters above sea level, 40 meters less than 7,000 meters. Therefore, for this challenge, David will begin his journey 100 miles west of the mountain in the Pacific Ocean. Here, he will free dive without oxygen support, where he will technically begin his ascent 40 meters below sea level. From there, he will surface and swim to shore, then undertake the exhausting bike ride to the base of the mountain. Finally, he will summit Aconcagua, making it the first 7,000-meter peak outside the Himalayas, before descending via paragliding.

La película original de ViX es presentada por el aventurero, David Liaño González, uno de los exploradores más consumados que jamás haya existido. Ha escalado el Everest 7 veces, el más joven en completar las 7 cumbres, escaló ocho picos de 8,000 m, navegó en solitario 30,000 + millas náuticas, corrió a través del desierto del Sahara, recorrió en bicicleta el Himalaya y mucho más.
EL DESAFÍO IMPOSIBLE – LA CUMBRE DE LOS 7000 METROS es un documental que explora la próxima gran aventura de David: ser la primera persona en lograr un ascenso de 7.000 m en el hemisferio sur. Pero la forma en que logrará esta hazaña es lo que hace que este viaje sea realmente imposible.
La montaña más alta del hemisferio sur es el Aconcagua, en Argentina, que se encuentra a 6.960 m sobre el nivel del mar, 40 m menos que los 7.000 m. Entonces, para este desafío, David comenzará este viaje 100 millas al oeste de la montaña en el Océano Pacífico. Aquí buceará en apnea sin soporte de oxígeno, donde técnicamente comenzará su ascenso a 40 metros bajo el nivel del mar. Desde allí, saldrá a la superficie y nadará hasta la orilla, luego realizará el agotador viaje en bicicleta hasta la base de la montaña. Finalmente, subirá al pico del Aconcagua, para convertirlo en la primera cumbre de 7.000 m fuera del Himalaya, antes de descender en parapente.
