ViX Announces Its New Series “El Mochaorejas,” Starring Damián Alcázar and Paulina Gaitán
The thriller features special appearances by: Alberto Estrella, Arcelia Ramírez, Claudia Ramírez, Emilio Guerrero, Julio Bracho, Oka Giner, and Scarlet Gruber
Miami – JANUARY 20, 2026 – ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, announces the premiere of EL MOCHAOREJAS, an original series starring Damián Alcázar (“La Ley de Herodes”, “Un Mundo Maravilloso”) and Paulina Gaitán (“Diablo Guardián”, “Sin Nombre”), which will arrive on ViX Premium on January 23.
The series features a top-tier cast including: Alex Perea, Ariana Saavedra, Armando Espitia, Armando Hernández, Fermín Martínez, Giovanna Zacarías, Gustavo Sánchez Parra, José Sefami, Juan Carlos Barreto, Marco Treviño, María Antonieta Hidalgo, and special appearances by Arcelia Ramírez, Oka Giner, Julio Bracho, Alberto Estrella, Emilio Guerrero, Claudia Ramírez, and Scarlet Gruber.
Comprised of eight episodes, the series is inspired by an investigation by journalist Olga Wornat and reconstructs the case of Daniel Arizmendi, one of Mexico’s most despicable criminals of the 1990s, who was captured on August 17, 1998, and is portrayed in this production by Damián Alcázar.
The fictionalized story, based on real events, portrays the context of the wave of kidnappings that took place during the 1990s.
El Mochaorejas is a production by The Mall, directed by Mauricio Cruz (La Reina del Sur and Pasión de Gavilanes). Executive producers are Carlos Bardasano and Jorge Bermúdez.

La serie, cuenta con un reparto de primer nivel conformado por: Alex Perea, Ariana Saavedra, Armando Espitia, Armando Hernández, Fermín Martínez, Giovanna Zacarias, Gustavo Sánchez Parra, José Sefami, Juan Carlos Barreto, Marco Treviño, María Antonieta Hidalgo y la participación especial de: Arcelia Ramírez, Oka Giner, Julio Bracho, Alberto Estrella, Emilio Guerrero, Claudia Ramírez, Scarlet Gruber.
La serie, compuesta por ocho episodios, está inspirada en una investigación de la periodista Olga Wornat y reconstruye el caso de Daniel Arizmendi uno de los criminales más ruines de México en la década de 1990, que fue capturado el 17 de agosto de 1998, y que en esta producción es interpretado por Damián Alcázar.
La historia ficcionada, basada en hechos reales cuenta el contexto de la ola de secuestros que se vivieron en los noventa.
El Mochaorejas es una producción de The Mall dirigida por Mauricio Cruz, (La Reina del Sur y Pasión de Gavilanes). Los productores ejecutivos son Carlos Bardasano y Jorge Bermúdez.
