CONMEBOL Copa América Championship Delivered Largest Univision Audience Since 2014 World Cup

2024 UEFA Euro Championship is Most-Watched Euro Final Ever in Spanish-Language

Both Tournaments Rank Top 2 Most-Streamed Sporting Events Ever on ViX in the U.S.

MIAMI – July 16, 2024 – TelevisaUnivision, the world’s leading Spanish-language media company, aired the two biggest soccer tournaments of the year, seeing record viewership for both CONMEBOL Copa América and UEFA Euro 2024.

The CONMEBOL Copa América final match (9:30 p.m. – midnight ET) between Argentina and Colombia delivered 6.35 million Total Viewers and 3.24 million Adults 18-49, drawing the largest audience on Univision since the 2014 World Cup final. The full telecast, including pre- and post-game coverage, averaged 5.2 million Total Viewers and 2.58 million Adults 18-49. The audience peaked at 6.66 Total Viewers (11:00 p.m. and 11:15 p.m.).

TelevisaUnivision’s full coverage of CONMEBOL Copa América (June 20 – July 14) averaged 1.86 million Total Viewers and 827,000 Adults 18-49, outperforming the competition by 31% in Total Viewers and 21% among Adults 18-49. Univision ranked as the #1 network in primetime among Adults 18-49 during the tournament, with Copa America matches delivering 15 out of the top 20 programs on Spanish-language television this year. The tournament outperformed Telemundo’s 2022 World Cup coverage, up 12% among Total Viewers and 3% among Adults 18-49.

The UEFA European Championship title game featuring Spain and England delivered 3 million Total Viewers and 1.5 million Adults 18-49, the most-watched Euro telecast ever in Spanish-language.

Both tournaments saw record viewership across TelevisaUnivision’s global streaming service ViX, standing as the top 2 most-streamed sporting events ever on the service in the United States. Copa America and UEFA Euro saw 30 million total streaming hours, with a reach of 5.3 million in the U.S. Sunday’s Argentina-Colombia final alone drew 1.5 million concurrent streams.
