MIAMI – APRIL 25, 2023 – ViX, the world’s leading Spanish-language streaming service, today announced the May 10th premiere of the comedy BENDITA SUEGRA (Blessed Mother-in-law) exclusively on the service. The ViX original film stars Paulina Goto (“Veinteañera, Divorciada y Fantástica”), Blanca Guerra (“Salón México”), Daniel Tovar (“Mirreyes vs Godinez”), Minnie West, Vanesa Restrepo, Tato Alexander, Héctor Kotsifakis, Miguel Burra and Carmen Beato.
BENDITA SUEGRA tells the story of Andrea, a successful veterinarian who loves her job and is in a relationship with Lucio, an up-and-coming lawyer who grew up in the country. Lucio has some news for Andrea: his mother is turning 60 and is throwing a big party to celebrate. Andrea visits the town where Lucio was raised for the first time and would like to become very close to his family, especially her new Mother-in-law Blanca, who is an overprotective mother, ultra-conservative and always thinks she’s right about everything. Andrea tries to fit in by tolerating all her quirks and harsh treatment during the torturous weekend.

BENDITA SUEGRA cuenta la historia de Andrea, una exitosa veterinaria apasionada de su trabajo quien vive en unión libre con Lucio, un abogado en ascenso que creció en provincia. Lucio le da la noticia a Andrea de que su mamá cumple 60 años y hará una gran fiesta para celebrarlo. Andrea irá por primera vez al pueblo donde creció Lucio y convivirá muy de cerca con su familia, en especial con su suegra Blanca, quien es una madre sobreprotectora y ultraconservadora que además siempre quiere tener la razón. Andrea con la intención de quedar bien, deberá tolerar los sutiles malos tratos de su suegra durante un tortuoso fin de semana.
