WHAT: Following the success of its debut in Mexico, Univision will premiere LA MADRASTRA, the newest version of this murder mystery style telenovela that marks the return of beloved actress Aracely Arámbula (La Doña [The Lady] and Los miserables [The Miserables]) and heartthrob Andrés Palacios (Imperio de mentiras [Empire of Lies] and Amor en custodia [Love in custody]) on October 17. This rendition of the classic telenovela makes the predictable unpredictable with a tale of injustice, power, and vindication.
Produced by Carmen Armendáriz and written by Chilean Arturo Moya Grau, LA MADRASTRA follows Marcia (Aracely Arámbula) a woman who is sentenced to pay for a crime that she did not commit. In the process of being sentenced to 35 years, she loses her support system as her husband Esteban (Andrés Palacios) considers her a murderer and divorces her. Twenty years later, a lawyer reopens the case and is able to release Marcia early. She returns to Mexico with the attempt to clear her name and build a relationship with her children, who believe that their mother died.

QUÉ: Tras el éxito de su debut en México, Univision estrenará el 17 de octubre LA MADRASTRA, la nueva versión de esta telenovela de intriga, misterio y asesinato que marca el regreso de la querida actriz Aracely Arámbula(La Doña y Los miserables) y Andrés Palacios (Imperio de mentiras y Amor en custodia) el 17 de octubre. Esta versión de la clásica telenovela vuelve impredecible lo predecible con una historia de injusticia, poder y reivindicación.
Producida por Carmen Armendáriz y escrita por el chileno Arturo Moya Grau, LA MADRASTRA cuenta la historia de Marcia (Aracely Arámbula) una mujer que es sentenciada a pagar por un crimen que no cometió. En el proceso de ser sentenciada a 35 años, pierde su sistema de apoyo ya que su esposo Esteban (Andrés Palacios) la considera una asesina y se divorcia de ella. Veinte años después, un abogado reabre el caso y logra liberar a Marcia antes de tiempo. Ell regresa a México con la intencion de limpiar su nombre y construir una relación con sus hijos, quienes creen que su madre murió.
