MIAMI, FL. August 31, 2022 – Feel the terror with PRESENCIAS, a new original ViX+ movie which premieres exclusively in the U.S., Mexico, and most of Spanish-speaking Latin America on September 7. Also today, ViX+ announced the world premiere of the trailer and key art of this anticipated film that will have a private screening set for Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on September 11.
Directed and produced by Luis Mandoki, PRESENCIAS will star Goya Award winner Alberto Ammann (“Narcos: Mexico,” “The Year of Fury,” “Cell 211”) and mark the return of Academy Award nominee Yalitza Aparicio (“Roma”) to films. On a mission to sell an old cabin for his family, Victor, a young and famous actor, returns with his beloved wife Alicia, to the place where he and his family spent countless happy times during their childhood; but where family happiness was cut short when as a child, he witnessed the death of his younger sister who, swimming in the lake, drowned despite his efforts to rescue her.
Returning to the cabin fills him with memories of pain and fear kept inside, and he begins to suffer from strong nightmares. The first night in the cabin, during a strong storm, Victor prepares a romantic evening with Alicia who in turn plans to give him a beautiful and great surprise that will change their lives. But just when she is ready to do so, they are both brutally attacked by something or someone.
Victor, determined not to rest until he knows who killed the love of his life and his son, begins to live nightmare moments that gradually turn into supernatural terrors. This journey will lead him to realize that the truth is even more terrifying than his worst nightmares.

También hoy, ViX+ anunció el estreno mundial del tráiler e imágenes de esta muy esperada película, que se mostrará el 11 de septiembre en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Toronto.

Víctor, un actor joven y famoso con la misión de vender la vieja cabaña de su familia, vuelve con su querida esposa Alicia al lugar donde su familia y él pasaron innumerables ratos agradables durante su infancia. Sin embargo, la felicidad de la familia fue breve, pues de niño fue testigo de la muerte de su hermana menor, quien se ahogó mientras nadaba en un lago a pesar de los esfuerzos que él hizo por rescatarla.
El retorno a la cabaña lo llena de recuerdos dolorosos y temor que ha mantenido dentro, y empieza a tener fuertes pesadillos. La primera noche en la cabaña, durante una fuerte tormenta, Víctor prepara una velada romántica con Alicia, quien a su vez planea darle una grata y linda sorpresa que les cambiará la vida. Pero cuando estaba a punto de hacerlo, algo o alguien ataca a ambos brutalmente.
Víctor, resuelto a no descansar hasta saber quién mató al amor de su vida e hijo, empieza a pasar por momentos tormentosos que gradualmente se vuelve temores sobrenaturales. Esta experiencia hace que se dé cuenta de que la verdad es incluso más aterradora que su peor pesadilla.
