Univision Tops CBS during Weeknight 10 p.m. Hour among Adults 18-49 and 18-34 with “Dulce Ambición”
Live Liga MX Soccer Coverage Leads Univision To Wins Over NBC on Wednesday Night and FOX on Saturday Night with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of September 28, 2020 to October 4, 2020
- On Sunday night, the premiere of “Tu Cara Me Suena” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 522,000 Adults 18-49 and 213,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of FOX and The CW in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot with Adults 18-34. The reality series increased its audience in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+39%), Adults 18-49 (+61%) and Adults 18-34 (+29%). “Tu Cara Me Suena” also attracted more Total Viewer 2+ (+16%), Adults 18-49 (+9%) and Adults 18-34 (+15%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. time slot from the comparable Sunday last year and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the second consecutive Sunday night in the current 2020/2021 season with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+24% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+17% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+32% adv.).
- For the entire week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, outperforming The CW with 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 475,000 Adults 18-49 and 197,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the second consecutive week in the current 2020/2021 season with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+11% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+24% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+44% adv).
- Univision’s “Médicos, Línea de Vida” averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 547,000 Adults 18-49 and 261,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned it ahead of NBC, FOX and The CW in the weeknight 8 p.m. hour among Adults 18-34. The medical drama out delivered the second hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlon: Estados Unidos” with double-digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+11% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+24% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+59% adv.).
- In its second week on the air, “Imperio de Mentiras” averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 554,000 Adults 18-49 and 228,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision ahead of NBC and The CW among Adults 18-49 and ahead of NBC, FOX and The CW with Adults 18-34 during the weeknight 9 p.m. hour. The series also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+2%), Adults 18-49 (+31%) and Adults 18-34 (+55%) than Telemundo’s “Todo Por Mi Hija.”
- Univision outperformed CBS during the weeknight 10 p.m. hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 with “Dulce Ambición.” The series delivered 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 399,000 Adults 18-49 and 142,000 Adults 18-34 and averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+45% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+52% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+47% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Falsa Identidad II.”
- Univision’s live broadcast of the first Presidential debate on Tuesday night delivered 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 535,000 Adults 18-49 and 199,000 Adults 18-34. It consistently increased its audience throughout the two-hour broadcast with double-digit audience gains in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+25%), Adults 18-49 (+47%) and Adults 18-34 (+62%).
- On Wednesday night, Univision aired the “Selección Mexicana” matchup between Mexico and Guatemala from 9:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 737,000 Adults 18-49 and 305,000 Adults 18-34. Univision outperformed NBC for the entire night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- On Saturday night, Univision out-delivered FOX among Adults 18-49 with double-digit audience advantages (+34%) and finished ahead of FOX (+99% adv.), CBS (+2% adv.) and NBC (+43% adv.) among Adults 18-34. Univision also ranked as the No.1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+8% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+38% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+77% adv.) with live coverage of Liga MX. The soccer matchup of America vs. UNAM averaged 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 624,000 Adults 18-49 and 286,000 Adults 18-34.
