Univision Scores Victory Over CBS, NBC and FOX with Live Soccer Action on Saturday Night Among A18-49 and A18-34

32nd Annual Premio Lo Nuestro Ranks No. 1 on Thursday Night, Propels Univision Ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX With Key Adult 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 Viewers

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of February 17, 2020 to February 23, 2020

  • Last week, Univision delivered double-digit week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+16% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+15% to 712,000) and Adults 18-34 (+11% to 301,000), marking the second consecutive week of audience growth.
  • Univision increased its primetime audience (+11%) from the comparable week in 2019 while ABC (-57%), CBS (-18%), NBC (-19%), FOX (-6%) and Telemundo (-16%) all reported audience declines with the key Adult 18 to 49 demographic.
  • For the entire week, Univision finished as the fourth most-watched broadcast network in primetime, out-delivering CBS and The CW with 301,000 Adults 18-34 as well as the fifth largest broadcast network, ahead of The CW with 712,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+.
  • Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) across every night for the ninth consecutive week among Adults 18-34 and on four out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-49.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the thirteenth consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+69% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+63% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+60% adv.).
  • With live coverage of the Liga MX matchup between Cruz Azul and Tigres, Univision outperformed CBS, NBC and FOX on Saturday night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Cruz Azul vs. Tigres drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+25% to 1.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+23% to 493,000) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday last year. The sports event was also the second highest-rated program on broadcast television and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the sixth consecutive Saturday night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Adults 18-49 (+28% adv.).
  • Monday through Friday, Univision delivered week-over-week audience growth for the second consecutive week among Total Viewers 2+ (+16% to 1.9 million), Adults 18-49 (+18% to 803,000) and Adults 18-34 (+16% to 350,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during weeknight primetime for the thirteenth straight week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+81% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+76% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+77% adv.).
    • At 8 p.m., “Ringo” averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 616,000 Adults 18-49 and 313,000 Adults 18-34, out-delivering the second hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlón Estados Unidos” by +20% among Total Viewers 2+, +13% among Adults 18-49 and +41% among Adults 18-34.
    • At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno” has consistently outperformed Telemundo’s “La Doña II” in the last six consecutive weeks by double-digit margins with 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ (+84% adv.), 661,000 Adults 18-49 (+57% adv.) and 284,000 Adults 18-34 (+44% adv.).
    • At 10 p.m. “Rubí” delivered 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 688,000 Adults 18-49 and 277,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network with double-digit audience advantages over ABC (+14% adv.) and CBS (+21% adv.) for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-34. “Rubí” also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+77% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+71% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+59% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Operación Pacífico.”
  • Univision’s weeknight series, “Ringo,” “Amor Eterno” and “Rubí” drew in more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Black-ish,” “Bless This Mess,” “For Life,” “Fresh Off The Boat,” “Mixed-ish,” “Schooled,” “Single Parents,” “Stumptown” and “The Goldbergs;” CBS’ “All Rise,” “Bob Hearts Abishola,” “Bull,” “Carol’s Second Act,” “Criminal Minds,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” “God Befriended Me,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Macgyver,” “Mom,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “NCIS: New Orleans,” “The Neighborhood,” “The Unicorn” and “Tommy;” NBC’s “Indebted,” “Lincoln Rhyme,” “Manifest,” “New Amsterdam,” “Superstore,” “Will & Grace” and “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist;” FOX’s “Deputy,” “Duncanville,” “Family Guy,” “Last Man Standing,” “Outmatched,” “Prodigal Son” and “The Simpson” as well as The CW’s “All American,” “Batwoman,” “Charmed,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Dynasty,” “Flash,” “Katy Keene” and “Supergirl.”
  • On Thursday night, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The three-hour live broadcast of the 32nd annual “Premio Lo Nuestro” attracted 3.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.4 million Adults 18-49 and 586,000 Adults 18-34, making it the top-rated program on all of television with more 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 viewers than the entire original primetime line-ups on ABC (“A Million Little Things,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Station 19”), CBS (“Carol’s Second Act,” “Mom,” “The Unicorn,” “Tommy” and “Young Sheldon), NBC (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Indebted,” “Law and Order: SVU,” “Superstore” and “Will & Grace”), FOX (“Deputy,” “Last Man Standing” and “Outmatched”) and Telemundo (“Exatlón Estados Unidos,” “La Doña II” and “Operación Pacífico”) as well as the first-run episode of The CW’s “Katy Keene.” The award show also delivered year-over-year audience growth of +5% and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with tripled the audience levels of Telemundo for the entire night in the key Adult 18 to 49 demographic.
  • Sunday night’s season two finale of “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” delivered 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+, 681,000 Adults 18-49 and 289,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision among the top-rated broadcast networks in the 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot and for the entire night, outperforming CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW among Adults 18-34 as well as NBC and The CW among Adults 18-49. The reality dance competition series finished within the top 5 most-watched programs on broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “The Rookie;” CBS’ “God Befriended Me,” “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: New Orleans;” NBC’s “The Good Girls” and “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist;” FOX’s “Bob’s Burgers,” “Duncanville,” “Family Guy” and “The Simpsons” as well as the entire original primetime line-ups on The CW (“Batwoman” and “Supergirl”) and Telemundo (“Exatlón Estados Unidos” and “La Voz II”). “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” also drove Univision to the No. 1 Spanish-language network ranking for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+46% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+31% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+34% adv.).
