Univision Delivers Season’s Highest-Rated Weekly Primetime Performance With Audience Growth Across All Key Demos

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of November 11, 2019 to November 17, 2019

  • Last week, Univision averaged its highest weekly primetime audience levels in the current 2019/2020 season with week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+36% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+44% to 725,000) and Adults 18-34 (+47% to 305,000).
  • For the entire week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network in primetime, ahead of The CW with 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 725,000 Adults 18-49 and 305,000 Adults 18-34.
  • Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+23% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+24% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+16% adv.).
  • Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
  • On Friday night, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking, out-delivering ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW for the entire night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 with live coverage of “CONCACAF Nations League.” The matchup between Panama and Mexico drew in 2.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.0 million Adults 18-49 and 420,000 Adults 18-34, making it the top-rated program on all of broadcast television with the key 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics. The sports event also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ (+28% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+42% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+32% adv.).
  • Monday through Friday, Univision increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+49% to 1.9 million), Adults 18-49 (+64% to 872,000) and Adults 18-34 (+61% to 369,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during weeknight primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+28% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+30% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+21% adv.).
    • At 8 p.m., “Rosa de Guadalupe” delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+9% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+15% to 674,000) and Adults 18-34 (+3% to 297,000) than the prior week, marking its highest weekly audience levels in the current 2019/2020 season.
    • At 9 p.m., “Cuna de Lobos” averaged its highest-rated weekly performance with week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+8% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+13% to 622,000) and Adults 18-34 (+10% to 231,000). With over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, “Cuna de Lobos” out-delivered first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder” and CBS’ “Madam Secretary.”
    • At 10 p.m., “El Dragón” increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+4% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+15% to 531,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 208,000) and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network with +20% audience advantage over CBS in the timeslot among the young 18 to 34 viewers.
  • Univision’s weeknight series, “Rosa de Guadalupe,” “Cuna de Lobos” and “El Dragón” outperformed The CW’s entire primetime original line-up consisting of “All American,” “Batwoman,” “Black Lightning,” “Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “Legacies,” “Nancy Drew,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural” with both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
  • Thursday night’s three-hour live broadcast of the 20th Annual “Latin Grammy Awards” attracted 3.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 1.6 million Adults 18-49 and 717,000 Adults 18-34 and positioned Univision as the No. 2 broadcast network for the entire night, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW with both the key 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics. The telecast averaged more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than the entire original line-ups on CBS (“Young Sheldon,” “The Unicorn,” “Mom,” “Carol’s Second Act” and “Evil”); NBC (“Superstore,” “Perfect Harmony,” “The Good Place,” “Will & Grace” and “Law and Order: SVU); and The CW (“Supernatural” and “Legacies”) as well as first-run episodes of ABC’s “A Million Little Things” and “How To Get Away With Murder.” The award show also delivered year-over-year audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+28%), Adults 18-49 (+35%) and Adults 18-34 (+40%) and propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with doubled the audience levels of Telemundo for the entire night across all three demographic groups.
  • Univision’s two-hour airing of “Reina de la Canción” averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 562,000 Adults 18-49 and 231,000 Adults 18-34 on Sunday night. The reality competition series increased its audience by +7% in the last hour compared to the first hour among Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49 and outperformed The CW’s entire original primetime line-up (“Batwoman” and “Supergirl”) by double-digits with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
