Univision Increases Primetime Audience Week-To-Week Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Univision Finishes as No. 1 Spanish-Language Network Across All Key Demos and No. 2 Overall Broadcast Network, Ahead of ABC, NBC and FOX on Saturday Night Among Adults 18-34 with Live Coverage of Liga MX

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of August 20, 2018 to August 26, 2018

Last week, Univision finished ahead of CW during primetime with week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+6% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+8% to 478,000) and Adults 18-34 (+4% to 196,000).

Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights for the second consecutive week among Adults 18-34.

Univision’s “El Rico y Lázaro” averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 543,000 Adults 18-49 and 221,000 Adults 18-34 while also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the weeknight 8pm hour for the 44th consecutive week with double-digit audience advantages of +26% over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+.

Airing weeknights at 9pm, Univision’s “La Bella y Las Bestias” increased its audience from the prior week among Total Viewers 2+ (+10% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+14% to 524,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 206,000). The series also out-delivered first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as CBS’ “Elementary” and “Salvation” as well as CW’s “Burden of Truth” and “The Outpost” among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Univision’s “La Piloto II” delivered week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+5% to 996,000), Adults 18-49 (+5% to 432,000) and Adults 18-34 (+3% to 191,000), marking the second consecutive week of audience growth with the young Adult 18-34 demographic.

With its live coverage of the “Liga MX” soccer match between América and UNAM, Univision captured the No. 2 broadcast network ranking, ahead of ABC, NBC and FOX on Saturday night among Adults 18-34. Not only did América versus UNAM doubled the network’s audience levels in the 8pm to 10pm time slot from the prior Saturday but it was also the third and fourth most-watched program on all of broadcast television on Saturday night among Adults 18-34 (220,000) and Adults 18-49 (485,000), respectively. The sports event also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the fifth consecutive Saturday night, out-delivering Telemundo by +40% among Total Viewers 2+, +45% among Adults 18-49 and +37% among Adults 18-34.

For the second consecutive Sunday, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+39% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+25% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+17% adv.).

  • “Aquí y Ahora” has consistently increased its audience in the last three consecutive weeks with week-to-week audience gains of +7% among Adults 18-49 (378,000). The news magazine also drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+18% to 1.1 million) and Adults 18-34 (+2% to 131,000) than the prior Sunday.
  • “Mira Quién Baila” attracted 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 497,000 Adults 18-49 and 191,000 Adults 18-34 as well as drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television during the 8pm to 10pm time slot on Sunday night, surpassing Telemundo by +29% in the key 18 to 49 demographic.
  • “Crónicas” outperformed Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” head-to-head in the Sunday 10pm hour by double-digit margins of +34% among Total Viewers 2+ (1.1 million), +48% among Adults 18-49 (452,000) and +69% among Adults 18-34 (194,000).
