Univision drew audiences of 2.3 million and 2.6 million for the two legs of the Clasico Regio — Tigres vs. Monterrey — in the Liga MX Apertura final, giving its networks 19 out of 20 top-rated club matches on U.S. television in 2017, regardless of language.
The only higher audience for a club match on U.S. television in 2017 was 2.7 million for the Guadalajara-Tigres match in the Liga MX Clausura final.
Univision networks accounted for more than 40 percent of all club soccer viewing on U.S. television. In addition to Liga MX, Univision also carries MLS and the Bundesliga.
MLS on UniMas and UDN averaged 288,000 viewers, up 13 percent from the 2016 season on the same networks. The top-rated Bundesliga match of the current season on any network, regardless of language, is the Hertha Berlin-Bayern Munich match that averaged 171,000 total viewers.
