Univision Deportes Network to broadcast for the first time an eSports event
The match to be broadcast on UDN with expert commentary from the Univision Deportes team of experts
WHAT: Univision Deportes will bring eSports fans the ultimate NFL gaming competition with the EA SPORTS Madden NFL 17 Classic. The Madden Classic is an open tournament and the first EA Major of the Madden 17 Championship Series. The competition will be livestreamed on UnivisionDeportes.com on Saturday, December 3 and will be broadcast on Univision Deportes Network on Monday, December 5, with a play-by-play and commentary from expert team of sports journalists. Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) that also includes UDN, the No. 1 Spanish-language sports network, today announced the schedule of its coverage of the two eSports events.
Sixteen finalists will compete in the Madden Classic Live Finals in Burbank, CA for a total prize pool of $100,000 and their shot at becoming the Madden 17 Classic Champion. The finalists will rack up series ranking points in their goal to be known as the Best Madden NFL 17 player in the world and grab their share of the $1,000,000 series prize pool.
Univision Deportes will stream both semifinals on the app and responsive site in English. Univision will produce a 60-minute Finals show with exclusive content broadcasted on Monday.
The Madden Classic qualifiers started back in August with 1.5 million competitors on two separate tournament tracks leading to the Live Finals, one for Xbox One and one for PlayStation®4. Players competed in Online Head to Head, Draft Champions, or MUT Salary Cap games.

La competencia se trasmitirá en UnivisionDeportes.com el sábado, 3 de diciembre y en Univision Deportes Network el lunes, 5 de diciembre, con narración de todas las jugadas y comentarios por su experto equipo de periodistas deportivos. Univision Deportes, la división deportiva multimedia de Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), que también incluye UDN, la cadena No. 1 de deportes en español, anunció hoy el calendario de su cobertura de los dos eventos de eSports.
