Univision Network Transforms Saturday Nights for Fútbol Fanáticos with the Launch of “Sábado Futbolero” Featuring More Liga MX Fútbol on Primetime Than Ever Before

Liga MX returns to UCI with more teams than before

MIAMI, FL – JULY 15, 2016 – Univision Deportes, the multimedia sports division of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) that also includes UDN, the No. 1 Spanish-language sports network, announced the beginning of its Sábado Futbolero– a fútbol fiesta unlike any other, in primetime, every Saturday night during the Liga MX season. Developed in collaboration with Liga MX’s leadership, coverage will feature the most popular teams, with even more stars, more storytelling, and more fun than usual. The six-hour window, will feature the best of Liga MX soccer brought to life for Univision’s networks, with matches being televised and simulcast across the network. For the first time, UVN will feature a double-header of Liga MX matches on Saturday nights on a weekly basis, for destination viewing for fans. Fútbol fans can also enjoy added bonus content across the network’s digital and social channels.

“As the home of soccer for Hispanic America, Univision Deportes is always looking for ways to bring fans more of the sport they love,” said Juan Carlos Rodriguez, president of Univision Deportes. “By partnering with Liga MX to introduce Sábado Futbolero, we are able to deliver even more of the sports content that fans crave and transform Saturday nights into the premier fútbol destination.”

Beginning July 16^th, Liga MX returns to UCI with more teams than before, featuring matches from 13 teams. New teams joining the line-up are Necaxa, Leon and Santos. Match highlights include the return of Necaxa to first division of Mexican soccer and newly acquired rights to home games of León.  Univision Network and Univisión Deportes will simulcast the following powerhouses on Saturday nights: América, Monterrey, Guadalajara, León, Tigres UANL, and Cruz Azul. UniMás will also televise matches on Saturday nights.

During the upcoming Liga MX, Torneo de Apertura 2016, UCI will broadcast the following teams:

 La Liga MX regresa a UCI con más equipos que antes

MIAMI, FL –15 DE JULIO DE 2016 – Univision Deportes, la división deportiva multimedia de Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) que también incluye a UDN, la cadena No. 1 de deportes en español, anunció el inicio de su Sábado Futbolero, una fiesta de fútbol como ninguna otra, en horario estelar, todas las noches de sábado durante la temporada de la Liga MX. La cobertura, producida en colaboración con los líderes de la Liga MX, incluirá a los equipos más populares, con incluso más estrellas, más narraciones y más diversión que la usual. El periodo de seis horas presentará lo mejor del fútbol de la Liga MX. Las cadenas de Univision harán que cobren vida con la trasmisión de partidos, algunos de ellos simultáneamente. Por primera vez, UVN incluirá dos partidos consecutivos de la Liga MX las noches de sábado semanalmente, el nuevo destino de los fanáticos del fútbol. Los fans del fútbol también pueden disfrutar contenido adicional en los canales digitales y las redes sociales de la cadena.

A partir del 16 de julio, la Liga MX regresa a UCI con más equipos que nunca al presentar partidos entre 13 de ellos. Los nuevos equipos que se están incorporando son Necaxa, León y Santos. Entre lo más destacado de los partidos está el retorno de Necaxa a la primera división del fútbol mexicano y la reciente adquisición de los derechos a los partidos locales de León. La Cadena Univision y Univisión Deportes trasmitirán simultáneamente a las siguientes potencias las noches del sábado: América, Monterrey, Guadalajara, León, Tigres UANL y Cruz Azul. UniMás también televisará partidos las noches del sábado.
