MIAMI, FL- DECEMBER 14, 2015- Concluding emotional journeys that began last Spring, competing amongst thousands of other boys across the country impassioned by music, the final five young men with immense natural talent, resolute personal commitment, and the hard-won support of a fast-growing legion of fans have now realized their ultimate American dream as the winners of the debut season of Univision Network’s “La Banda.”
Coming together with a rich and diverse combination of Latin American roots, the new band members Richard Camacho Dominican from New Hampshire, Erick Brian Colón Cuban from Florida, Zabdiel de Jesús from Puerto Rico, Joel Pimentel Mexican from California and Christopher Vélez Ecuadorian from New Jersey have proven themselves as the best bilingual young male vocalists in the country and have won a spot as members of CNCO – The Newest Latino Super Group.
As winners of the initial season of “La Banda,” the members of CNCO have been rewarded with a recording contract with Sony Music Latin and will be managed by the show’s co-executive producer and judge, Ricky Martin. The group will quickly enter the recording studio to complete their debut album with Wisin acting as producer.

The three-hour show aired live coast-to-coast and featured an adrenaline filled performance by Pitbull, who opened the show with a special medley of his hit songs “Piensas,” “Fireball,” “Echa Pa’lla,” “Feel This Moment” and “Give Me Everything” that included all seven remaining “La Banda” contestants. Wisin and Fifth Harmony also performed, and contestants received their last critiques and professional insights from superstar judges Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz and Laura Pausini.
The show also featured video appearances from executive producer Simon Cowell and SYCO Entertainment’s One Direction. But the biggest participants of all were the legion of “La Banda” fans passionately supporting their favorite contestants, through their final performances and one last emotional rollercoaster as they faced the disappointment of elimination or the joy of realizing their dreams.
The new bandmates then closed the evening with a dramatic performance of their new song, “The Winning Song,” produced by Wisin– which was quickly released on iTunes to euphoric fans.
Look for CNCO to return to the airwaves to perform on Univision Network’s New Year’s Eve “¡Feliz 2016!” telecast from Times Square as the first of their many special plans for 2016. Fans that may have been motivated to pursue their own musical dreams by the first season of “La Banda” will soon have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of CNCO when the upcoming auditions begin for “La Banda 2.”
The music-based, reality-competition show “La Banda” was developed by Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), Simon Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment and Haim Saban’s Saban Brands, and co-produced with FremantleMedia Latin America. “La Banda” was hosted by popular Univision Network personality Alejandra Espinoza.
