Eyeing Hispanic millennials, Univision has partnered with Verizon to feature telenovelas, sports and video-on-demand (VOD) content on its go90 mobile entertainment video platform.

The partnership furthers Univision Communication Inc’s (UCI) reach among multicultural millennial audiences by providing them with access to content through their mobile devices, as well as increased engagement through social media.

A selection of live matches from Mexico’s Liga MX as well as soap operas will be accessible on go90 for Verizon Wireless customers. All go90 users will also be able to watch Flama, Univision’s digital network, which features content created by, for and with Hispanic millennials, and Univision News.

“With Hispanic smartphone penetration at 82%, and app engagement levels that are 18% higher than the general population, go90 is an ideal way for us to serve our highly engaged digital audiences,” said Tonia O’Connor, president, content distribution and corporate business development, Univision.

“Video consumption on mobile devices continues to grow, and Hispanics lead that trend. Univision is the leader in delivering sought-after content for consumers as well as incredible reach for distributors and advertisers,” added Terry Denson, vice president of content acquisition and strategy for Verizon. “By offering the best representation of Univision’s sports, news and entertainment properties to all go90 users, go90 establishes itself as the categorical leader of multicultural and millennial content.”
