MIAMI – SEPTEMBER 29, 2015 – Univision News, part of Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America, today announced it has been honored with three News & Documentary Emmy® Awards by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). “Entre el Abandono y el Rechazo” (Between Abandonment and Rejection) – the María Elena Salinas hard-hitting special which also received Peabody, Gracie and Cronkite awards this year – was recognized in the Outstanding Newsmagazine category. Univision’s Investigative Unit was recognized for “Nuevos Narcotesoros” in the Outstanding Investigative Journalism category and the popular “Aquí y Ahora” newsmagazine received an Emmy for “La Masacre de Iguala” in the Breaking News Category.
Univision News was bestowed three Emmy awards after receiving eight nominations:

(UCI), la principal empresa de medios de comunicación al servicio de la comunidad hispana en los Estados Unidos, anunció hoy que ha sido galardonada con tres premios Emmy® de Noticias y Documentales por la National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). “Entre el Abandono y el Rechazo” (Between Abandonment and Rejection) – el especial de gran impacto de María Elena Salinas que además recibió los premios Peabody, Gracie y Cronkite este año – fue galardonado en la categoría Noticiero o magacín noticioso sobresaliente en español; la unidad investigativa de Univision (Univision Investiga) fue reconocida en la categoría Periodismo sobresaliente de investigación en español por “Nuevos Narcotesoros”; y a el popular “Aquí y Ahora” se le otorgó el premio Emmy en la categoría Cobertura sobresaliente de una noticia de último minuto en español por “La Masacre de Iguala”.
