Univision has launched a mobile and tablet game app for Nuestra Belleza Latina (Our Latin Beauty), the media company’s first licensed mobile game app for a TV show.
The group has initially released the app for Android, and the iOS app will launch later this month. Univision partnered with Huuuge, a game developer and producer that has previously launched eight casino apps, including four that have been No 1 in the Android app store.
With the Nuestra Belleza Latina app, fans of the series will be able to play games along with their favourite contestants and former beauty queens. With a casino look, the app features three slot machines, as well as three card games.
“In its ninth season, our viewers can’t get enough of Nuestra Belleza Latina (NBL) and now our gaming app allows them to have the deeper engagement they crave,” said Tonia O’Connor, president for content distribution and corporate business development at Univision Communications. “We are expanding the successful and growing NBL franchise by partnering with a leading app developer. It’s a partnership that puts us front and centre and allows us to break through the consumer challenges of app discovery”.
The reality contest, which has an average of three million viewers and around the same amount of Facebook followers, has become a strong brand among the Hispanic audience.
“Univision is pleased to offer our audiences another way to connect with our engaging programming,” said Alberto Ciurana, president for programming at Univision Communications. “Nuestra Belleza Latina Casino is a fun and exciting game to keep the action going all year long, even after the season ends.”
