Univision is No. 1 on Spanish-Language Television in Primetime for Seventh Consecutive Week Across All Key Demos During the Current 2020/2021 Broadcast Season
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of November 2, 2020 to November 8, 2020
- Univision delivered double-digit week-over-week primetime audience growth among Total Viewers 2 (+18% to 1.3 million), Adults 18-49 (+29% to 555,000) and Adults 18-34 (+27% to 233,000). Univision also increased its audience during primetime from the comparable week last year among Total Viewers 2+ (+12%), Adults 18-49 (+10%) and Adults 18-34 (+12%).
- For the entire week, Univision finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network during primetime, outperforming The CW with 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 555,000 Adults 18-49 and 233,000 Adults 18-34.
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on five out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
- Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network in primetime for the seventh consecutive week in the current 2020/2021 season, out-delivering Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+24% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+35% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+41% adv.).
- On Monday night, Univision’s “Médicos, Línea de Vida” finale attracted 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 725,000 Adults 18-49 and 343,000 Adults 18-34, positioning Univision ahead of CBS, FOX and The CW in the 8 p.m. hour with Adults 18-34 and outperformed FOX and The CW among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+. The finale also made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. time slot and for the entire night with double-to-triple digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- “Imperio de Mentiras” averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 510,000 Adults 18-49 and 208,000 Adults 18-34. The novela positioned Univision ahead of Telemundo’s “Todo Por Mi Hija” during the weeknight 9 p.m. hour with double-digit advantages among Adults 18-49 (+11% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+33% adv.).
- Univision’s “Dulce Ambición” delivered 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 414,000 Adults 18-49 and 151,000 Adults 18-34. The novela delivered week-over-week audience growth among Adults 18-49 (+5%) and outperformed Telemundo’s “Falsa Identidad II” during the weeknight 10 p.m. hour with double-digit advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+38% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+44% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+35% adv.).
- On Tuesday night, Univision’s special live news coverage of the 2020 presidential election, “Destino 2020 Presenta: La Gran Noche” attracted 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+, 405,000 Adults 18-34, 948,000 Adults 18-49 and 985,000 Adults 25-54. The telecast increased its audience in the last hour compared to the first hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+5%), Adults 18-49 (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+11%). It also delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+27% adv.), Adults 18-34 (+32% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+40% adv.) and Adults 25-54 (+44% adv.) than Telemundo’s special coverage of the 2020 election on this night.
- On Saturday night the soccer matchups of Tigres UANL vs. Atlas and Cruz Azul vs. UNAM delivered an average audience of 942,000 Total Viewers 2+, 491,000 Adults 18-49 and 210,000 Adults 18-34. The special news program, “Informativo Especial: Destino 2020, Biden” which aired from 8:26 p.m. to 8:59 p.m., averaged 952,000 Total Viewers 2+, 397,000 Adults 18-49 and 168,000 Adults 18-34. This line-up drove Univision to average more Total Viewers 2+ (+51%), Adults 18-49 (+67%) and Adults 18-34 (+64%) to the 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. time slot from the prior Saturday.
- On Sunday night, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+60% adv.) Adults 18-49 (+34% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+46% adv.). This marked the seventh consecutive Sunday in the current 2020/2021 season that Univision outperformed Telemundo for the entire night among Total Viewers 2+ and the fourth consecutive Sunday among Adults 18-34.
- “Aquí y Ahora” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+10% to 1.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (+3% to 444,000) for the second consecutive week, marking its highest-rated telecast in the current 2020/2021 season.
- The third telecast of “Tu Cara Me Suena” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+44% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+27% to 489,000) and Adults 18-34 (+29% to 19,000) to the network’s Sunday 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot compared to the previous week. The reality positioned Univision ahead of Telemundo in the time slot among Total Viewers 2+ (+70% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+35% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+45% adv.).
- “Sal y Pimienta” delivered double-digit week-to-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+49% to 1.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+52% to 352,000) and Adults 18-34 (+68% to 137,000) marking the highest-rated telecast in the current 2020/2021 season among Adults 18-34.
