Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of February 10, 2020 to February 16, 2020
- On Saturday night, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX for the entire night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. The live coverage of the Liga MX matchup between Club América and Atlas drew in 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 563,000 Adults 18-49 and 217,000 Adults 18-34, making it the No. 1 and No. 2 program on broadcast television on Saturday night in the respective 18 to 34 and 18 to 49 demographics. The sports event attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+32%), Adults 18-49 (+39%) and Adults 18-34 (+39%) to the network’s 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. time slot from the comparable Saturday last year as well as propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo for the fifth consecutive Saturday night among Total Viewers 2+ (+20% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+64% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+44% adv.).
- Univision delivered year-over-year audience growth (+7%) in primetime while CBS (-13%), NBC (-29%), FOX (-22%), The CW (-22%) and Telemundo (-11%) all reported audience declines with the key Adult 18 to 49 demographic.
- Univision finished ahead of CBS and NBC in primetime for the fifth consecutive week with 274,000 Adults 18-34 and ranked as the fifth-largest broadcast network, ahead of The CW with 619,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+.
- Univision outperformed one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) across every night among Adults 18-34 for the eighth consecutive week and on five out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
- For the twelfth consecutive week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+45% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+39% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+39% adv.).
- Monday through Friday, Univision increased its primetime audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+8% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+10% to 682,000) and Adults 18-34 (+11% to 301,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during weeknight primetime for the twelfth straight week with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+56% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+44% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+40% adv.).
- At 8 p.m., “Ringo” averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 639,000 Adults 18-49 and 313,000 Adults 18-34 and made Univision a top-rated broadcast network, out-delivering NBC and The CW among Adults 18-34. The series also outperformed the second hour of Telemundo’s “Exatlón Estados Unidos” by +22% among Total Viewers 2+, +19% among Adults 18-49 and +37% among Adults 18-34.
- At 9 p.m., “Amor Eterno” delivered more Total Viewers 2+ (+4% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+5% to 712,000) and Adults 18-34 (+5% to 300,000) than the prior week, marking its highest-rated weekly performance in its current second season with the young 18 to 34 viewers. It also averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+96% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+61% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+36% adv.) than Telemundo’s “La Doña II.”
- At 10 p.m., “Rubí” attracted 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-over-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+8% to 693,000) and Adults 18-34 (+12% to 289,000), making Univision the No. 1 broadcast network with double-digit audience advantages over ABC (+13% adv.), CBS (+51% adv.) and NBC (+23% adv.) in the Monday through Friday 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot with Adults 18-34. “Rubí” also out-delivered the premiere week of Telemundo’s new 10pm series, “Operación Pacífico” by double-digits among Total Viewers 2+ (+65% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+55% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+48% adv.).
- On every single weeknight last week, Univision’s “Ringo,” “Amor Eterno” and “Rubí” ranked within the top 10 programs on broadcast television, delivering more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “A Million Little Things,” “Black-ish,” “Bless This Mess,” “For Life,” “Mixed-ish,” “Schooled,” “Single Parents,” “Stumptown” and “The Goldbergs;” CBS’ “All Rise,” “Blue Bloods,” “Bob Heats Abishola,” “Bull,” “Carol’s Second Act,” “Criminal Minds,” “FBI,” “FBI: Most Wanted,” “Macgyver,” “Mom,” The Neighborhood,” “Tommy” and “Unicorn;” NBC’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Indebted,” “Law and Order: SVU,” “Lincoln Rhyme,” “Manifest,” “New Amsterdam,” “Superstore” and “Will & Grace;” FOX’s “Deputy,” “Last Man Standing,” “Outmatched” and “Prodigal Son” as well as The CW’s “All American,” “Black Lightning,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Flash,” “Katy Keene,” “Legacies” and “Riverdale.”
- Averaging more than half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s weeknight series “Ringo” (639,000), “Amor Eterno” (712,000) and “Rubí” (693,000) outperformed first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Stumptown;” CBS’ “Tommy;” NBC’s “Lincoln Rhyme” and The CW’s “All American,” “Black Lightning,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Flash,” “Katy Keene,” “Legacies” and “Riverdale.”
- On Sunday night, “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+11% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+34% to 563,000) and Adults 18-34 (+42% to 266,000), positioning Univision ahead of CBS, NBC, FOX and The CW in the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot with Adults 18-34 for the second consecutive Sunday. The reality dance competition series ranked within the top 5 programs on broadcast television with more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of CBS’ “God Befriended Me,” “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: New Orleans;” NBC’s “Zoey’s Xtraordinary Playlist” and “The Good Girls;” FOX’s “Bob’s Burgers,” “Duncanville” and “The Simpsons” as well as CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Batwoman” and “Supergirl.” “Mira Quién Baila All Stars” also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television, outperforming Telemundo in the time period (+20% adv.) as well as for the entire night (+8% adv.) with the key Adult 18 to 49 demographic.
