Live Liga MX Soccer Coverage on Univision Scores Victory Over ABC, CBS and FOX for Fourth Consecutive Saturday Night Among Adults 18-34
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of August 5, 2019 to August 11, 2019
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34 and on four out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.
- For the fourth consecutive Saturday, Univision outperformed ABC, CBS and FOX for the entire night among Adults 18-34. The Liga MX matchup of Tigres UANL vs. Necaxa attracted 650,000 Total Viewers 2+, 320,000 Adults 18-49 and 155,000 Adults 18-34 and ranked as the third most-watched program on all of broadcast television with the young 18 to 34 demographic.
- For the entire week, Univision finished ahead of the CW in primetime with 940,000 Total Viewers 2+, 387,000 Adults 18-49 and 159,000 Adults 18-34, marking the 46th consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season.
- Univision’s “La Reina Soy Yo” delivered week-over-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+3% to 1.2 million), Adults 18-49 (+3% to 461,000) and Adults 18-34 (+2% to 194,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the weeknight 8 p.m. hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Un Poquito Tuyo” among Total Viewers 2+ (+43% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+28% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+42% adv.).
- Univision’s weeknight series, “La Reina Soy Yo” and “Sin Miedo a la Verdad” averaged more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Family Food Fight” and “Reef Break;” CBS’ “Blood & Treasure” and “Elementary;” NBC’s “The InBetween” as well as The CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Big Stage,” “Bulleproof,” “Hypnotize Me,” “Masters of Illusion,” “Pandora,” “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” “The Hundred,” “The Outpost,” “Two Sentence Horror Stories” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway.”
- On Sunday night, Univision captured the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, outperforming Telemundo among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers 2+.
- “Aquí y Ahora” delivered 897,000 Total Viewers 2+, 303,000 Adults 18-49 and 100,000 Adults 18-34. The newsmagazine also averaged more Adults 18-49 (+12% adv.) and Total Viewers 2+ (+30% adv.) than the first-hour of Telemundo’s “MasterChef Latino” from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Airing from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the movie presentation of “Knight and Day” out-delivered FOX’s “2019 Teen Choice Awards” by +10% among Total Viewers 2+ (764,000), +33% among Adults 18-49 (379,000) and +37% among Adults 18-34 (136,000).
- “Crónicas” increased its audience week-over-week among Total Viewers 2+ (+11% to 886,000), Adults 18-49 (+31% to 361,000) and Adults 18-34 (+32% to 122,000).
