Univision Defeats All Broadcast Networks including ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX for the Second Consecutive Sunday Night Among Adults 18-34
Univision Delivers Year-Over-Year Primetime Audience Growth For Second Straight Week Across Key Demos and Finishes Ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX on Six Out of Seven Nights with Adults 18-34
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of July 8, 2019 to July 14, 2019
- For the second consecutive Sunday night, Univision captured the No. 1 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, outperforming ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, The CW and Telemundo among Adults 18-34. The special live coverage of Campeón de Campeones between Club América and Tigres UANL drew in 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and ranked as the second and fifth most-watched program on broadcast television among Adults 18-34 (340,000) and Adults 18-49 (758,000), respectively. The sports event also propelled Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the fourth consecutive Sunday night with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+37% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+59% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+46% adv.).
- Univision finished ahead of The CW in primetime for the 42nd consecutive week since the start of the current 2018/2019 season with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 452,000 Adults 18-49 and 195,000 Adults 18-34.
- For the second consecutive week, Univision delivered year-over-year audience growth during primetime among Adults 18-34 (+20% to 195,000), Adults 18-49 (+7% to 452,000) and Total Viewers 2+ (+1% to 1.1 million).
- Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.
- Univision’s “La Reina Soy Yo” delivered 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 456,000 Adults 18-49 and 214,000 Adults 18-34, positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the weeknight 8 p.m. hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo’s “Un Poquito Tuyo” among Total Viewers 2+ (+44% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+40% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+43% adv.). The series also averaged more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Reef Break;” CBS’ “Blood & Treasure,” “Elementary,” “Instinct,” “The Code” and “The Good Fight;” NBC’s “Hollywood Game Night” and “The InBetween;” FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” and “What Just Happened??! with Fred Savage;” as well as The CW’s “Burden of Truth,” “IZombie,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” “The Hundred,” “The Outpost” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway.”
- Saturday night’s special broadcast of “Balon De Oro” attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+15% to 652,000) and Adults 18-49 (+16% to 309,000) to the network’s 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot from the prior week and made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, out-delivering Telemundo by +13% among Adults 18-49 and +18% among Total Viewers 2+.
