Univision Finishes as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network on Sunday Night with Double-Digit Audience Advantages Over Telemundo Among Total Viewers 2+
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of October 15, 2018 to October 21, 2018
For the fourth consecutive week, Univision finished ahead of The CW during primetime with 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 491,000 Adults 18-49 and 212,000 Adults 18-34.
On Sunday night, Univision delivered week-to-week audience growth among Total Viewers 2+ (+32% to 1.4 million), Adults 18-49 (+10% to 514,000) and Adults 18-34 (+19% to 191,000), positioning it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages of +14% over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+.
- “Aquí y Ahora” increased its audience from the prior airing among Total Viewers 2+ (+13% to 1.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (+7% to 429,000). The newsmagazine also drew in more Total Viewers 2+ (+93%), Adults 18-49 (+47%) and Adults 18-34 (+39%) to the network’s 7pm hour compared to the previous Sunday.
- “Nuestra Belleza Latina” averaged 1.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 523,000 Adults 18-49 and 183,000 Adults 18-34. The talent competition series also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television during the Sunday 8pm to 10pm time slot, outperforming Telemundo by +8% among Total Viewers 2+.
- “Crónicas” delivered its highest-rated telecast in the current 2018/2019 season with week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+31% to 1.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+19% to 579,000) and Adults 18-34 (+59% to 233,000). It also attracted more Total Viewers 2+ (+41% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+37% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+27% adv.) than Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” head-to-head in the Sunday 10pm hour.
Airing weeknights at 8pm, Univision’s “La Rosa De Guadalupe” averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 526,000 Adults 18-49 and 257,000 Adults 18-34. The dramatic series also drew in more Adult 18-34 viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “A Million Little Things” and “Speechless;” CBS’ “Bull,” “MacGyver,” “Madam Secretary,” “Murphy Brown” and “S.W.A.T;” NBC’s “Blindspot” and “I Feel Bad” as well as CW’s “All American,” “Black Lightning,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Dynasty,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl” and “Supernatural.”
In the 9pm hour, Univision’s “Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia” delivered 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+ and out-delivered the original airings of CW’s dramatic series, “All American,” “Black Lightning,” “Dynasty” and “Supergirl” among both Adults 18-49 (535,000) and Adults 18-34 (232,000).
In its final week, and in the 10pm hour, Univision’s “La Piloto II” averaged its second highest-rated weekly performance during its entire run with week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+2% to 1.1 million), Adults 18-49 (+3% to 494,000) and Adults 18-34 (+2% to 212,000). Its finale telecast on Thursday night drew in 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+, 485,000 Adults 18-49 and 208,000 Adults 18-34.
More than half-a-million Total Viewers 2+ (702,000) tuned-in to the matchup between America and Tijuana on the Univision network on Saturday night. America vs. Tijuana also ranked among the top 10 programs on broadcast television, in seventh-place among Adults 18-34 (154,000) and in ninth-place among Adults 18-49 (351,000).
