Univision Outperforms One or More English-Language Broadcast Networks on Six of Seven Nights For Third Consecutive Week Among Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of August 27, 2018 to September 2, 2018

For the third consecutive week, Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-34.

Univision finished ahead of CW in primetime for the entire week with 1.2 million Total Viewers 2+, 449,000 Adults 18-49 and 181,000 Adults 18-34.

Univision’s “El Rico y Lazaro” delivered week-to-week audience gains among Total Viewers 2+ (+7% to 1.6 million), Adults 18-49 (+7% to 583,000) and Adults 18-34 (+8% to 239,000) as well as made it the No. 1 Spanish-language network in the weeknight 8pm hour, outperforming Telemundo with both Total Viewers 2+ and Adults 18-49.

Airing weeknights at 9pm, Univision’s “La Bella y Las Bestias” averaged more Adult 18-49 (522,000) and Adult 18-34 (198,000) viewers than first-run episodes of ABC’s “Take Two;” CBS’ “Salvation;” as well as CW’s entire original primetime line-up consisting of “Masters of Illusion,” “Penn & Teller: Fool US,” “The Outpost” and “Whose Line Is It Anyway.”

Univision’s “La Piloto” attracted 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 418,000 Adults 18-49 and 183,000 Adults 18-34 while also positioned it as the No. 3 broadcast network during the Monday through Friday 10pm hour, out-delivering ABC and CBS with the young 18 to 34 demographic.

On Saturday night, Univision finished ahead of CBS and FOX for the entire night among Adults 18-34 with its live coverage of “Liga MX,” featuring Tigres vs. Atlas and Guadalajara (Chivas) vs. Pachuca. In the early primetime window, the Tigres-Atlas match drew 571,000 Total Viewers 2+, 261,000 Adults 18-49 and 106,000 Adults 18-34. The follow-up match between Chivas and Pachuca retained and increased its overall lead-in audience by +51% with 865,000 Total Viewers 2+ and ranked as the fourth and tenth most-watched program on all of broadcast television among Adults 18-34 (177,000) and Adults 18-49 (405,000), respectively.

Sunday night’s two-hour airing of “Mira Quien Baila” averaged more Total Viewers 2+ (+41% to 1.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (+12% to 357,000) than the network’s 8pm to 10pm time slot from the comparable date in 2017. The dance reality competition series also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television for the seventh consecutive Sunday with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo in both the time period (+41% adv.) and for the entire night (+21% adv.) among Total Viewers 2+.

Univision’s “Cronicas” has outperformed Telemundo’s “Don Francisco Te Invita” during the Sunday 10pm hour for the last three weeks with audience advantages of +6% among Total Viewers 2+ (915,000), +18% among Adults 18-49 (358,000) and +2% among Adults 18-34 (115,000) this past week.
