MIAMI – FEBRUARY 20, 2020 — Univision’s Premio Lo Nuestro, the first Latin music show of the decade, brought together the world’s biggest Latin music stars with epic never-before-seen moments, unprecedented collaborations, and more exclusive premieres than ever before.
The four-hour live telecast highlighted the world’s top emerging artists while also paying tribute to music’s icons. In addition to featuring 12 television premieres by chart-topping artists, awards were presented in 35 categories representing the many sounds of Latin music, from Regional Mexican to Urban, Pop, Bachata, Salsa, and power ballads. Superstar Ricky Martin kicked off the night with the World TV premiere of “Tiburones,” followed by an iconic performance from Daddy Yankee of “Que Tire Pa’ Lante,” and ending the celebration with Reykon, who brought an exclusive remix of “Perriando” featuring a first-time collaboration with salsa legend Willie Colón.
Puerto Rican global star Daddy Yankee was the biggest winner of the night and took home seven of the newly redesigned Premio Lo Nuestro trophies, including Artist of the Year, Urban Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year, Remix of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year. Bad Bunny received five awards for Album of the Year, Remix of the Year, Tour of the Year, Video of the Year, and Urban Trap Song of the Year. Sebastian Yatra took home three awards, Pop/Rock Artist of the Year, Pop/Rock Song of the Year, and Regional Mexican Collaboration of the Year. Regional Mexican artist Christian Nodal also won three awards for the genre’s Artist, Song and Collaboration of the Year.
Special awards were presented to three megastars: Raphael with the Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia, Alejandro Fernández with the Premio Lo Nuestro Legado Musical – Mariachi, and J Balvin being named Ícono Mundial.
Hosted by global ambassadors and superstars of Latin music Pitbull and Thalia, and beloved Univision personality Alejandra Espinoza, the 32nd edition of Premio Lo Nuestro aired Thursday, February 20, live from AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.
Some of the highlights from tonight’s show include:
- An unforgettable performance by Pitbull started with “3 to Tango” surprising the audience with Hollywood movie star John Travolta’s dancing moves, and then returning to sing along on “Get Ready.” Then, Lil Jon and Chesca accompanied Pitbull to perform “Cinco de Mayo,” thus premiering all three tracks from his new album.
- Alejandro Fernández also launched a Worldwide TV debut of “Te Olvide” from his new Mariachi album.
- Global Icon J Balvin performed a medley of four songs: “Blanco,” “Morado,” “Loco Contigo,” and a remix of “No Me Conoces” with Jhay Cortez.
- Music legend Raphael romanced the audience with a TV premiere that included a medley of his classic songs joined by renowned artists: “Que Sabe Nadie” with David Bisbal; his newly released single “No Vuelvas” with Gloria Trevi; and “Escándalo” alongside Bisbal and Trevi that brought the crowd to their feet.
- Additional World Debuts included performances by: Chiquis with “Ticket de Salida” featuring Amandititita; Gerardo Ortiz with “Otra Borrachera”; Natti Natasha with “Me Estas Matando”; and Sebastian Yatra’s collaboration with Manuel Turizo and Rauw Alejandro on “TBT.”
- Exclusive TV premieres included: Jesse & Joy and surprise guest Luis Fonsi with “Tanto”; Carlos Rivera with “Perdiendo la Cabeza” with Becky G and Pedro Capó; CNCO joined for the first time by Manuel Turizo with “Pegao”; Prince Royce performed a medley of “Carita de Inocente,” and “Trampa” featuring Zion and Lennox; Ricardo Montaner with “Me Enamore;” and Thalia turned up the heat with Mau and Ricky in “Ya Tú Me Conoces.”
- Reggaeton legends Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee reunited on stage to bring down the house with their latest hit “Muévelo.”
- The music-filled night started on the Magenta Carpet pre-show “Noche de Estrellas” (Night of Stars) with musical numbers by popular duo Mau y Ricky performing “Desconocidos” and “Qué Dirías” and Spanish artist David Bisbal singing “A Partir de Hoy” and “En Tus Planes.”

MIAMI – 20 DE FEBRERO DE 2020 — Premio Lo Nuestro de Univision, el primer programa de premios a la música latina de la década congregó a las más grandes estrellas musicales latinas del mundo con momentos épicos nunca vistos, colaboraciones sin precedente y más estrenos exclusivos que nunca.
La trasmisión en vivo de cuatro horas destacó a los mejores artistas emergentes del mundo a la vez que rindió homenaje a ídolos de la música. Además del estreno de 12 canciones en la televisión por artistas de gran éxito en venta, se entregaron premios en 35 categorías que representaron los géneros de la música latina, desde la regional mexicana hasta la urbana, pop, bachata, salsa y potentes baladas. La superestrella Ricky Martin empezó la velada con el estreno internacional en la televisión de “Tiburones”, seguido por una interpretación emblemática por Daddy Yankee de “Que tire pa’ lante”. La celebración terminó con Reykon, quien ofreció un exclusivo remix de “Perriando” en su primera colaboración con el legendario salsero Willie Colón.
El puertorriqueño Daddy Yankee, superestrella internacional, fue el que más premios ganó durante la noche. Se llevó siete de los trofeos recién rediseñados de Premio Lo Nuestro, entre ellos Artista del Año, Artista Masculino del Año de Música Urbana, Sencillo del Año, Remix del Año, y Colaboración del Año. Bad Bunny recibió cinco premios: Álbum del Año, Remix del Año, Tour del Año, Video del Año y Canción del Año de Música Urbana/Trap. Sebastián Yatra ganó tres premios: Artista del Año de Pop/Rock, Canción del Año de Pop/Rock y Colaboración del Año de Música regional mexicana. El intérprete de música regional mexicana Christian Nodal también recibió tres galardones por Artista, Canción y Colaboración del Año de ese género.
Se otorgaron premios especiales a tres megaestrellas: a Raphael, el Premio Lo Nuestro a la Excelencia; a Alejandro Fernández, el Premio Lo Nuestro Legado Musical – Mariachi; y a J Balvin, la designación de Ícono Mundial.
Bajo la conducción de Pitbull y Thalía, embajadores internacionales y superestrellas de la música latina, y la popular personalidad de Univision Alejandra Espinoza, la 32a edición de Premio Lo Nuestro se trasmitió el jueves, 20 de febrero, en vivo desde AmericanAirlines Arena en Miami.
Entre los momentos culminantes del show de esta noche:
- Una presentación inolvidable por Pitbull empezó con “3 to Tango”, que sorprendió a la audiencia con los pasos de baile de la estrella de cine de Hollywood John Travolta, antes de sumarse a “Get Ready”. Luego Lil Jon y Chesca acompañaron a Pitbull a interpretar “Cinco de Mayo”. Estrenó así las tres canciones de su nuevo álbum.
- Alejandro Fernández también presentó por primera vez en la televisión mundial “Te Olvidé” de su nuevo álbum de música mariachi.
- El ídolo internacional J Balvin ofreció un popurrí de cuatro canciones: “Blanco”, “Morado”, “Loco Contigo” y un remix de “No me conoces” con Jhay Cortez.
