 “Premios Juventud” Fueled Univision to No. 1 Network on All of Television for the Entire Night for the Second Consecutive Year Among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34

 

“Premios Juventud” was Most-Social TV Program Across all of TV with 5.7M Total Interactions Across Social Media Platforms

 

MIAMI – July 25, 2022 – The summer’s most anticipated celebration “Premios Juventud” thrilled audiences with the best of Latin music, summer’s hottest hits, exciting collaborations, and memorable premieres driving Univision to the No. 1 network ranking on all of television for the entire night, and for the second consecutive year, among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Persons 12-34.

 

With this performance, Univision is home to the top three most watched music award shows on all of television, regardless of language in the current 2021/2022 season with No. 1 “Premio Lo Nuestro,” No 2. “Latin Grammy Awards” and No. 3 “Premios Juventud” among U.S. Hispanic Adults 18-49.

 

Live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, under the theme “Celebra Tu Pasión” (Celebrate Your Passion), and simulcasted live on Univision and Galavision, the 19th annual

edition of “Premios Juventud” reached 4.5 million Total Viewers 2+ who tuned in to all or part

of the three-hour live broadcast, and averaged 1.9 million Total Viewers 2+, 885,000 Adults 18-49, 362,000 Adults 18-34 and 490,000 Persons 12-34. The telecast delivered audience growth over its 2021 edition among Adults 18-49 (+3%) and Adults 18-34 (+3%), making it the only award show to report second consecutive year of audience increases.

 

The award celebration made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, and attracted more U.S. Hispanic viewers than the combined audience of the latest editions of the major music award shows (“American Music Awards,” “Billboard Music Awards,” “Country Music Awards,” and the “Video Music Awards) among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, and Persons 12-34.  It also out-performed Telemundo by double to triple digit audience advantages among Total Viewers 2+ (+78% advantage), Adults 18-49 (+143% advantage), Adults 18-34 (+141% advantage.) and Persons 12-34 (+193% advantage).

 

Univision’s pre-show “Noche de Estrellas” (7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.) averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+, 443,000 Adults 18-49, 142,000 Adults 18-34 and 231,000 Persons 12-34, and increased its audience in the last half-hour compared to the first half-hour among Total Viewers 2+ (+4%), Adults 18-49 (+11%), Adults 18-34 (+6%) and Persons 12-34 (+6%).

Most-Social TV Program Across all of TV

“Premios Juventud” stirred up engagement on social with almost 6 million total interactions across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, making it the most-social program of the day across all Broadcast & Cable networks and the #2 most-social Spanish-language entertainment telecast across TV in 2022 thus far.

 

This year’s telecast of “Premios Juventud,” received more social total interactions than NBC’s “2022 Billboard Music Awards” (+1%), TNT’s “28th Annual SAG Awards” (+61%), TEL’s “Latin American Music Awards” (+61%), “2022 BET Awards” (+102%), TEL’s “Premios Tu Musica Urbano” (+103%), “Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards 2022” (+117%) and FOX’s “iHeartRadio Music Awards 2022” (+162%).
