MIAMI – JULY 20 – TelevisaUnivision, the leading Spanish-language media and content company, announced today that Lindsay Casinelli, talented sports journalist and host of TUDN’s Combate Global, will join Despierta América.
Beginning on Tuesday, July 26, Casinelli will now host daily sports segments on the Emmy®-award-winning morning show.
Casinelli then joined the Univision sports family in 2012; in 2014, she became the first woman nominated for a National Sports Emmy® Award in Spanish. In 2019, she was recognized as a “Top Woman in Sports” by Cynopsis Media. Prior to joining Despierta America, she was the co-host of Contacto Deportivo, Futbol Central, and Republica Deportiva on TUDN, where she will continue to host Combate Global. Throughout her career, Lindsay Casinelli has covered major sporting events such as the NBA Finals, World Boxing Championships, World Series, NFL Playoffs, the World Cup, and more. She has interviewed sports heavyweights such as Derek Jeter, Yadier Molina, Matt Carpenter, Oscar de la Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Manny “PacMan” Paquiao, Alex Rodriguez, and more.
Throughout recent weeks, Despierta América has continued to reach more Hispanic audiences than other multiple network morning shows combined.
