The Romantic Fantasy Feature’s All-Star Cast Includes Erick Elías, Zuria Vega, Bárbara de Regil, Jesús Zavala and Natalia Téllez

MIAMI – APRIL 12, 2022 – TelevisaUnivision Inc., the world’s leading Spanish-language content and media company, today announced that production began in Mexico City on “Quiero Tu Vida” (I Want Your Life), an exclusive romantic fantasy feature for ViX+, the new premium Spanish-language SVOD tier that the streaming platform will launch in the second half of 2022.

“Quiero Tu Vida” is a romantic fantasy feature about Nico, a young soccer player whose promising career comes to a sudden end when he suffers a devastating injury on the field. Eight years later, Nico turns into a bitter man who keeps fantasizing about what his life could have been. When the universe magically gives him an opportunity to live the life he always dreamed of, Nico learns that fame and glory can be deceitful and sometimes happiness comes in the most unexpected ways.
Produced by Salma Hayek Pinault and José Tamez under their Ventanarosa banner along with Jorge Garcia Castro, “Quiero Tu Vida” is directed by Jorge Colón (Sin Ella and Tired of Kissing Frogs) based on a script by Tamez and Garcia Castro. The ViX+ Original Film will star Erick Elías (Tormenta en el Paraíso and El Hotel de los Secretos), Zuria Vega (Que te Perdone Dios and Mi Marido Tiene Familia), Bárbara de Regil (El Torito and Rosario Tijeras), Jesús Zavala (La Boda de Valentina and Cómplices) and Natalia Téllez (Logout and Te Acuerdas de Mí).
Soccer – or rather fútbol – is a strong component of Latin American cultures, and a passion point for the all-star cast participating in front of and behind the cameras, in the production:
- “The role of a soccer player is an exciting challenge for me as it makes me step out of my comfort zone. For almost two months, I’ve been training and rehearsing with director Jorge Colón, whom I wanted to work with again, said Erick Elías, star of “Quiero Tu Vida.” “I love the story because it pushes me to transform my look several times, in addition to being a physical challenge. I’m also thrilled to work in Mexico again.”
- “I love soccer, and I’m excited to be part of a movie that takes place in that world. I am very excited to work again with my good friend Erick Elias and also with Jorge Colón as I made my first film with him. This story will resonate with audiences because, given the immediacy of social media, we always aspire to a different life. The grass is always greener, but this film reminds us to be grateful and value what we have,” added Zuria Vega, star of “Quiero Tu Vida.”
- “I love the ‘Quiero Tu Vida’ story and am obsessed with my character, Sofi del Mar. Sofi is a very self-centered woman; it’s all about her. I’m making sure that, despite her narcissism, it comes across very naturally,” said Bárbara de Regil, star of “Quiero Tu Vida.”
ViX offers two tiers of service, including a free advertising-supported product (AVOD) recently launched in the U.S., Mexico and most Spanish-speaking countries, with more than 100 channels and more than 40,000 hours of video-on-demand content. ViX+, the service’s SVOD tier set to launch in the second half of 2022., will offer subscribers access to more premium content in Spanish than with any other service, with 10,000 hours of exclusive content and more than 50 original series and films in the first year.

MIAMI –12 DE ABRIL DE 2022– TelevisaUnivision Inc., la principal empresa de contenido y medios en español del mundo, anunció hoy el inicio del rodaje en la Ciudad de México de “Quiero tu vida”, una película de fantasía romántica exclusiva para ViX+, el nuevo nivel premium de streaming (SVOD) en español que se lanzará en el segundo semestre de 2022.
Es el primer proyecto bajo el recién anunciado acuerdo de acceso preferencial (first-look) de TelevisaUnivision con Ventanarosa Productions de Salma Hayek Pinault para producir películas en español exclusivamente para ViX+.
“Quiero tu vida” es una película de fantasía romántica sobre Nico, un joven futbolista cuya prometedora carrera llega a su fin repentinamente tras una lesión devastadora en la cancha. Ocho años más tarde, Nico es un amargado que no deja de fantasear sobre lo que pudo haber sido su vida. Cuando el universo le brinda mágicamente la oportunidad de llevar la vida que siempre soñó, Nico se da cuenta de que la fama y la gloria pueden ser engañosas y, a veces, la felicidad llega de las maneras más inesperadas.
Producida por Salma Hayek Pinault y José Tamez bajo Ventanarosa, como también Jorge García Castro, “Quiero tu vida” está dirigida por Jorge Colón (Sin ella y Tired of Kissing Frogs) y basada en el guion de Tamez y García Castro. Protagonizan la película ViX+ Original Erick Elías (Tormenta en el paraíso y El hotel de los secretos), Zuria Vega (Que te perdone Dios y Mi marido tiene familia), Bárbara de Regil (El torito y Rosario Tijeras), Jesús Zavala (La Boda de Valentina y cómplices) y Téllez (Logout y Te acuerdas de mí).
El fútbol es un aspecto importante de la cultura latinoamericana y una pasión del elenco estelar que participa en la producción, frente y detrás de cámaras:
- “Interpretar a un jugador de fútbol representa un reto que me emociona y me saca de mi zona de confort. Llevo casi dos meses entrenando y ensayando con Jorge Colón, un director con el que tenía muchas ganas de volver a trabajar”, dijo Erick Elías, protagonista de “Quiero tu vida”. “La historia me encantó porque además de ser un reto físico, me obliga a tener varios cambios de imagen. Además estoy feliz de volver a trabajar en México”.
- “A mí me encanta el fútbol, y hacer una película que se desarrolla en este mundo me emociona mucho. Además, estoy feliz de volver a trabajar con mi gran amigo Erick Elías y también con Jorge Colón, porque mi primera película fue con él. Esta historia tendrá gran acogida en la audiencia porque con la inmediatez de las redes sociales, todo el tiempo deseamos la vida que no tenemos. ViX ofrece dos niveles de servicio. El nivel gratuito con publicidad (AVOD) que se lanzó recientemente en Estados Unidos, México y la mayoría de los países hispanohablantes, tiene más de 100 canales y 40,000 horas de contenido de video on demand. ViX+, el nivel SVOD del servicio, que se tiene programado lanzar en el segundo semestre de 2022, ofrecerá a sus suscriptores acceso a más contenido premium en español que todos los demás servicios, con 10,000 horas de contenido exclusivo y más de 50 series y películas originales el primer año.
