Univision Ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-Language Network During Primetime with Double-Digit Audience Advantages over Telemundo Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of May 28, 2018 to June 3, 2018

Last week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+49% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+26% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+23% adv.). This marked the thirtieth consecutive week that Univision occupied the top-ranked Spanish-language network position with young Adults 18-34 and Total Viewers 2+.

Univision also captured the No. 3 broadcast network ranking for the entire week in primetime, out-delivering CBS, FOX and CW with 244,000 Adults 18-34 and finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network, ahead of CW with 590,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on every single night last week among Adults 18-34 and on four out of seven nights among Adults 18-49.

Univision’s “El Rico y Lázaro” averaged 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+ with week-to-week audience gains among Adults 18-49 (+13% to 650,000) and Adults 18-34 (+16% to 282,000). The series also positioned Univision as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the weeknight 8pm hour, surpassing Telemundo by +82% among Total Viewers 2+, +45% among Adults 18-49 and +54% among Adults 18-34.

Airing weeknights at 9pm, Univision’s “Papá a Toda Madre” delivered more Adult 18-34 (241,000) viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Quantico” and “The Crossing;” CBS’ “Instinct” and “Ransom;” NBC’s “Reverie” and “Taken;” FOX’s “Lucifer” as well as CW’s “iZombie,” “Life Sentence,” “Supergirl” and “The Originals.” The series also drove Univision to a first-place finish on Spanish-language television in the Monday through Friday 9pm hour with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+28% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+24% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+12% adv.).

On Saturday night, Univision’s special live coverage of the “Selección Mexicana” soccer match between Mexico and Scotland drew in 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+, 876,000 Adults 18-49 and 356,000 Adults 18-34 while also propelled it to the No. 1 broadcast network ranking for the entire night, ahead of ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and Telemundo among both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34. Not only did the sports event double the network’s audience levels during the 7:30pm to 10:00pm time slot from the comparable Saturday last year but it was also the top-rated program on all of broadcast television on Saturday night with both Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

For the fifteenth consecutive Sunday night, Univision finished as the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night with double-digit audience advantages of +34% over Telemundo in the key 18 to 49 demographic.
