Univision Continues to Outperform Telemundo by Double Digits in Primetime Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34

No. 1 Spanish-Language Network in all Key Demos Also Finished as the No. 2 Overall Broadcast Network, Ahead of ABC, CBS and FOX, on Saturday Night Among Adults 18-34 with its Live Sports Coverage of “Liga MX”

Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of April 23, 2018 to April 29, 2018

Last week, Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network during primetime with double-digit audience advantages over Telemundo among Total Viewers 2+ (+35% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+15% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+21% adv.), marking the twenty-fifth consecutive week in the current 2017/2018 season that it occupied the top-ranked Spanish-language network position in the key 18 to 49 demographic.

Univision also captured the No. 4 network ranking for the entire week in primetime, out-delivering CBS and CW with 282,000 Adults 18-34 and finished as the fifth most-watched broadcast network, ahead of CW with 664,000 Adults 18-49 and 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+.

Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights last week among Adults 18-34.

Averaging over half-a-million Adult 18-49 viewers, Univision’s “El Rico y Lazaro” (674,000) and “Papa A Toda Madre” (668,000) positioned it as the No. 1 Spanish-language network, surpassing Telemundo by +23% and +3% during the respective weeknight 8pm and 9pm hours.

Univision’s “El Rico y Lazaro” (299,000) and “Papa A Toda Madre” (291,000) also delivered more Adult 18-34 viewers than the first-run episodes of ABC’s “Designated Survivor,” “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” “Once Upon A Time,” “Quantico” and “The Crossing;” CBS’ “Blue Bloods,” “Code Black,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Instinct,” “MacGyver,” “Madam Secretary,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Ransom” and “Seal Team;” NBC’s “A.P. Bio,” “Blacklist,” “Blindspot,” “Champions,” “Rise” and “Timeless;” FOX’s “LA to Vegas,” “Lucifer” and “New Girl” as well as the entire original primetime line-up on CW (“Arrow,” “Dynasty,” “Flash,” “iZombie,” “Life Sentence,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl,” “Supernatural,” “The Hundred” and “The Originals”).

Airing weeknights at 10pm, Univision’s “Por Amar Sin Ley” attracted 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+ and out-performed the first-run episodes of such English-language dramas as ABC’s “Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” and “Once Upon a Time;” CBS’ “Ransom;” and CW’s “Arrow,” “Dynasty,” “iZombie,” “Life Sentence,” “Riverdale,” “Supergirl,” “Supernatural,” “The Hundred” and “The Originals” among both Adults 18-49 (653,000) and Adults 18-34 (263,000).

With its live coverage of “Liga MX” featuring the two soccer matches of Tigres UANL versus Monterrey and America versus Santos Laguna, Univision finished as the No. 2 broadcast network, ahead of ABC, CBS and FOX on Saturday night among Adults 18-34. Preceded by Tigres UANL versus Monterrey which drew in 945,000 Total Viewers 2+, 486,000 Adults 18-49 and 168,000 Adults 18-34, the soccer match between America and Santos Laguna retained and increased its overall lead-in audience by +15% with 1.1 million Total Viewers 2+ while also ranked as the second and third most-watched program on all of broadcast television on Saturday night among Adults 18-34 (269,000) and Adults 18-49 (607,000), respectively.

Sunday night’s two-hour finale of the third installment of “Pequeños Gigantes” attracted 2.5 million Total Viewers 2+, 922,000 Adults 18-49 and 397,000 Adults 18-34 as well as made Univision the No. 1 Spanish-language network for the entire night, surpassing Telemundo by double to triple-digit margins among Total Viewers 2+ (+134% adv.), Adults 18-49 (+88% adv.) and Adults 18-34 (+112% adv.). Head-to-head in the 9pm hour, the kids’ talent competitions series also out-performed Telemundo’s “Luis Miguel, La Serie” with three times more Adults 18-34 and two times more Adults 18-49.

Univision’s “Crónicas” delivered double-digit audience gains from the prior Sunday among Total Viewers 2+ (+29% to 1.8 million), Adults 18-49 (+36% to 709,000) and Adults 18-34 (+58% to 314,000) while also propelled it to the No. 2 broadcast network ranking during the Sunday 10pm hour, out-delivering CBS and NBC with both the key 18 to 49 and 18 to 34 demographics.
