Univision Ranks as No. 1 Spanish-Language Network for the Fourth Consecutive Week Among Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34
Highest Rated Semi-Final Liga MX Match in Network History helps Univision Beat NBC and CBS with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 on Saturday Night
Univision Broadcast Prime Highlights – Week of November 27, 2017 to December 3, 2017
For the fourth consecutive week Univision ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language network, securing double-digit percentage advantages with Total Viewers 2+ (+40%) Adults 18-49 (+32%) and Adults 18-34 (+42%).
- In the current Season-to-date Univision is the leading Spanish-language network with Total Viewers 2+.
On Saturday night, the second leg of the Liga MX semifinals helped Univision rank as the No. 3 network with Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, out-delivering NBC and CBS in both demographics. Now the most watched semifinal match to ever air on Univision, the Tigres UANL vs América matchup attracted 1.7 million Total Viewers 2+, 980,000 Adults 18-49 and 462,000 Adults 18-34.
Univision was also the fifth largest broadcast network overall for the fourth consecutive week with Adults 18-34.
Univision out-delivered one or more of the English-Language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on four out of seven nights this past week among Adults 18-34 and three nights with Adults 18-49.
Univision was the No. 1 Spanish-language network during the weekday 8pm hour for the sixth consecutive week, reporting double-digit advantages over its closest competitor with Total Viewers 2+ (+65%) Adults 18-49 (+59%) and Adults 18-34 (+118%) of its closest competitor.
- Airing at 8pm, “Rosa de Guadalupe” grew its week-to-week audience among Total Viewers 2+ (+2% to 1.7 million), Adults 18-49 (+5% to738,000) and Adults 18-34 (+5% to 351,000).
For the weekday 9pm hour, Univision maintained its position as the No. 1 Spanish-language network out-delivering its competitor with Total Viewers 2+ (+31%), Adults 18-49 (+17%) and Adults 18-34 (+27%). In fact, among Adults 18-34, Univision ranked as the No. 4 network overall, out-delivering FOX in the hour (+7% adv.).
- Univision’s 9pm dramedy, “Mi Marido Tiene Familia” (My Husband Has Family), also grew its viewership over the previous week, attracting 1.8 million Total Viewers 2+ (+9%), 800,000 Adults 18-49 (+15%) and 368,000 Adults 18-34 (+18%).
With a special Sunday night lineup, Univision was the No. 1 Spanish-language network with Total Viewers 2+, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.
- Kicking off the night with a heart-warming farewell edition honoring María Elena Salinas, “Aquí y Ahora” (Here and Now) averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+, 600,000 Adults 18-49 and 197,000 Adults 18-34.
- Leading into the season two finale of “El Chapo,” Univision aired a one-hour special “El Chapo Ilimitado” from 8pm to 9pm. The one-hour special attracted 1.0 million Total Viewers 2+, 423,000 Adults 18-49, and 176,000 Adults 18-34.
- The two-hour finale of “El Chapo” from 9pm-11pm reached 3.6 million Total Viewers 2+ who tuned in to all or part of the two-hour finale. The finale averaged 1.3 million Total Viewers 2+ (+10%), 611,000 Adults 18-49 (+15%) and 245,000 Adults 18-34 (+13%).
