CHICAGO – DECEMBER 3, 2015 – Univision Chicago today announced a partnership with DePaul University to launch “La Hora Picante”, a one-hour radio program on Univision America, Univision’s full service radio format. The show will air on WRTO 1200AM in Chicago on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m.
The pilot program is a first of its kind and will incorporate WGBO-TV’s local news gathering operation to provide guidance to student broadcasters as they explore a wide variety of topical news stories and current events from the perspectives of bilingual millennial hosts. The program will be piloted by Radio DePaul and will air from their Lincoln Park studios. “La Hora Picante” will be hosted by students Samantha Rivera, Alondra Valle and Giovanni Hernandez in both English and Spanish-language.
“We are very excited to be partnering with Radio DePaul on this project because it provides a platform for young bilingual Hispanic journalists to have a voice on the Chicago airwaves,” said Doug Levy, senior vice president and general manager, Univision Chicago. “We look forward to watching these ‘billennials’ develop their skills and share their perspective with our community.”

UNIVISION CHICAGO Y DEPAUL UNIVERSITY SE UNEN PARA LANZAR EL PROGRAMA RADIAL “LA HORA PICANTE”
CHICAGO – 3 DE DICIEMBRE DE 2015 – Univision Chicago anunció hoy una alianza con DePaul University para lanzar “La Hora Picante”, un programa radial de una hora en Univision América, el formato de radio de servicio completo de Univision. El programa se trasmitirá los sábados a las 8:00 a.m. por WRTO 1200AM en Chicago.
El programa piloto es el primero de su tipo e incorporará la cobertura de noticias locales por WGBO-TV para guiar a los estudiantes de periodismo de difusión mientras exploran una gran variedad de noticias sobre diversos temas y los últimos acontecimientos desde la perspectiva de los presentadores millennials bilingües. El programa se trasmitirá como piloto en Radio DePaul, desde sus estudios en Lincoln Park. Conducirán “La Hora Picante” en inglés y español los estudiantes Samantha Rivera, Alondra Valle y Giovanni Hernández.
