Univision Communications Inc. Names Rosemary Mercedes Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications

NEW YORK – SEPTEMBER 23, 2015 – Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), the leading media company serving Hispanic America, announced today the promotion of Rosemary Mercedes to senior vice president, Corporate Communications, effective immediately. She will continue to be based in New York and report to Mónica Talán, executive vice president of Corporate Communications and Public Relations.

“Rosemary is a passionate and talented communications executive and her expertise has helped to elevate UCI’s visibility in the media landscape,” said Talán.  “She is a trusted advisor and has helped grow and develop the best-in-class Corporate Communications & Public Relations team we have today.”

Since joining UCI in 2006, Mercedes has managed the New York-based communications team, defining strategy and providing communications counsel to leadership across the Company on various key internal and external initiatives. In 2013, Mercedes was selected as one of the top 40-Under-40 PR Professionals in the U.S. by PR Week magazine. She was also chosen to form part of UCI’s inaugural Leadership Development Program in 2012, a group of the top 40 high-potential leaders across the enterprise.  She has more than 16 years of public relations experience working in various roles across sectors, including non-profit and higher education. She earned a master’s in Corporate and Public Communications from Seton Hall University, where she mentors current undergraduate students through the Communication Honors Associates Mentoring Program (CHAMP).
