WHAT: Hit makers from every genre are ready to announce the winners of Univision Network’s “Premios Juventud” (PJ) Youth Awards 2015, the summer’s most anticipated event, as chosen by bilingual millennials and Latin youth on Thursday, July 16th.
Presenters include some of the hottest names in Hispanic entertainment, including actors Cristián de la Fuente, Paulina Goto, Adriana Louvier, Fanny Lu, Michael Peña, and Marjorie de Sousa, as well as Univision TV and Radio hosts Enrique Santos and Rodolfo “El Chamo” Soules. The world of music will be represented by Argentine singer Axel and Spain’s Natalia Jiménez, as well as Mexican group Calibre 50 and Afro-Colombian hip-hoppers ChocQuibTown. Also presenting awards will be actress and TV host Zuleyka Rivera and “Nuestra Belleza Latina” (Our Latin Beauty) 2015 winner Francisca Lachapel.
A highlight of the evening will be Univision News anchor Jorge Ramos’ presentation of two academic scholarships honoring Hispanic high school seniors. Sponsored for the third consecutive year by Dr Pepper®, the scholarships will award the top contender with $50,000 and the runner-up with $25,000. Viewers will get to know them through vignettes about their personal stories and academic successes. Students watching live will have the opportunity to enter a $1,000 tuition giveaway by sharing their biggest education and career goals via Twitter, using the hashtag #TuBecaConcurso and mentioning @DrPepper.
The night’s events will take a moment to feature a heartfelt homage to Hispanic TV veteran Mario Kreutzberger better-known as Don Francisco, the legendary host wrapping up 53 years of “Sábado Gigante” (Giant Saturday) on air. Additionally, the program pays homage to honor the fallen idol and musical Regional Mexican legend, Joan Sebastian, a talented and respected singer songwriter.
The big night begins at 7 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central) with an exciting pre-show featuring live performances, fashion do’s and don’ts, makeovers, daring questions for the artists, and more. William Valdés will head up Univision’s coverage of the awards show on social media, immediately after co-hosting the “Noche de Estrellas de Premios Juventud” (Night of Stars) alongside Carlos Calderón, Daniela di Giacomo and Maite Perroni.
For the “Premios Juventud” show at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central), which recognizes those who Hispanic youth consider tops in music, movies, telenovelas, sports, and popular culture, veteran hosts Ninel Conde and William Levy will be joined by Univision Network’s own Alejandra Espinoza and Mexican music star El Dasa, who will also perform during the show.

QUÉ: Creadores de éxitos en todos los géneros están listos para anunciar a los ganadores de “Premios Juventud” (PJ) 2015 de la Cadena Univision, quienes fueron escogidos por millennials bilingües y jóvenes latinos, el jueves, 16 de julio en el evento más esperado del verano.
Entre los presentadores se encuentran algunos de los más populares protagonistas del mundo del entretenimiento hispano, incluidos los actores Cristián de la Fuente, Paulina Goto, Adriana Louvier, Fanny Lu, Michael Peña y Marjorie de Sousa, como también los presentadores de televisión y radio de Univision Enrique Santos y Rodolfo “El Chamo” Soules. El mundo de la música estará representado por el cantante argentino Axel y Natalia Jiménez de España, como también el grupo mexicano Calibre 50 y los hip-hoppers afrocolombianos ChocQuibTown. Uno de los momentos culminantes de la noche será la entrega por Jorge Ramos, presentador de Noticias Univision, de dos becas académicas en honor a estudiantes hispanos de último año de secundaria. Las becas, auspiciadas por tercer año consecutivo por Dr Pepper®, otorgarán $50,000 al ganador y $25,000 al semifinalista. Los televidentes llegarán a conocerlos por medio de segmentos sobre su historia personal y éxitos académicos. Los estudiantes que vean el programa en vivo tendrán la oportunidad de inscribirse en un sorteo de $1,000 para la matrícula si cuentan cuáles son sus mayores objetivos educativos y profesionales vía Twitter, usando el hashtag #TuBecaConcurso y mencionando @DrPepper.
Dentro de los grandes momentos de la noche se le realizará un homenaje al veterano de la televisión hispana Mario Kreutzberger, mejor conocido como Don Francisco, quien está por concluir 53 años de conducción del programa “Sábado Gigante”. También durante el programa se le rendirá homenaje al recién fallecido ídolo y leyenda de la música regional mexicana Joan Sebastián, un cantante y compositor respetado por su gran talent.
La gran noche comienza a las 7 p.m. Este/Pacífico (6 p.m. Central) con un emocionante programa de antesala con actuaciones en vivo, lo que está y no está en la moda, makeovers, atrevidas preguntas para los artistas y más.
