MIAMI, FL – DECEMBER 7, 2014 –In a grand finale filled with music, excitement and special guests, Yazaira López was declared the winner of the Univision Network’s popular singing competition “Va Por Ti” becoming the nation’s new Latin music sensation. With 42.6% of the votes, the young Puerto Rican winner wins a coveted recording contract with Warner Music and a $50,000 cash prize.
“I want to thank God for giving me my life back. I’m grateful to my family and the production team of ’Va Por Ti’ and Univision. Thank you for giving me an opportunity and for helping me showcase my talent, and that goes for those who traveled down this road with me. This is proof that nothing is impossible. Like all of us, I struggled for many years and never imagined I could achieve this, and the main road to success is to believe in yourself. Until you realize your potential and your worth, you won’t get anywhere,” said López, who was bullied as a child for being overweight and has been very vocal throughout the competition about her weight struggles.
During the two-and-a-half hour finale, the five finalists – Yazaira López from Puerto Rico, Fernando Corona from Miami, José Enrique Poyato from Miami, Virginia Stille from Houston and Danny Montejo from Chicago – once again demonstrated their tremendous talent and remarkable professional growth throughout the arduous competition.

In the show, captains Dulce María and El Dasa came back to participate in the grand finale along with winning captain Jencarlos Canela who were there to support and see Corona finish as first runner up in the competition, Danny Montejo take the third spot, Poyato was the first to be eliminated and placed fifth, followed by Virginia in fourth place.
“Va Por Ti” finale also featured renowned singer Pepe Aguilar, the show’s godfather, first special guest and judge. Music icon Miguel Bosé, who had participated as judge during the season, returned to the stage for a special duet with Aguilar.
All finalists shared the stage one last time singing duets with a line-up of A-list stars. There were five duets in total: Fernando and Regional Mexican singer Bobby Pulido; Poyato together with actor and singer Mane de la Parra; Danny with Maria Leon from pop music group Playa Limbo; Virginia joined actress and singer Edith Márquez; and Yazaira sang along with actress and singer María José.
The renowned Regional Mexican band Los Tigres del Norte also participated in the finale as guest judges and shared the stage with the four finalists in a tribute to their music.
In a night filled with emotions, dancing and tears, contestant Paloma Carrasco from Chicago returned to the stage after being eliminated in the semifinals and was recognized for her dedication, talent and discipline throughout the season by Alejandra Guzmán.
Hosted by the charismatic Galilea Montijo, “Va Por Ti” is a co-production of Televisa and Univision Network. The program began with 28 candidates divided into three teams led by three popular Latin music artists: captains Dulce María, El Dasa and Jencarlos Canela. The difficult competition featured a panel of famous judges led by Alejandra Guzmán and Larry Hernández, plus an internationally recognized artist as guest judge every week. Among the guests were David Bisbal, Emmanuel, J Balvin, Laura Pausini, Mijares, Paquita la del Barrio, Poncho Lizárraga from Banda El Recodo, Ricardo Montaner, Ricky Martin, Thalía, Wisin and Yuri, among others.

Yazaira López recibe la copa de “Va por Ti” de la mano del juez del show Larry Hernandez y es postulada la gran ganadora de la competencia de canto de Univision.
MIAMI, FL – 7 DE DICIEMBRE DE 2014 – En una gala llena de música, emociones y grandes invitados especiales, Yazaira López fue declarada la ganadora de la competencia de canto “Va Por Ti” convirtiéndose así en la nueva sensación de la música latina. Con 42.6% de los votos del público, la joven puertorriqueña fue premiada con un contrato de grabación con Warner Music y 50,000 dólares en efectivo.
“Quiero agradecerle a Dios por devolverme la vida. También a mi familia y a toda la producción de ‘Va Por Ti’ y Univision. Gracias por darme una oportunidad y por ayudarme a exponer mi talento, y esto va también a todos los que han pasado por lo mismo que yo. Esto es una prueba de que no hay imposibles. Como todos nosotros, luché por muchos años pero jamás en mi vida pensé que lo pudiera lograr y la razón principal para obtener el éxito es creer en uno mismo. Hasta que tú no te das cuenta de lo que eres, de lo que vales, no obtienes nada”, dijo López quien sufrió de bullying durante su niñez debido al sobrepeso y ha sido muy abierta con el tema a lo largo de la competencia abordando el tema.
Durante la gran final de dos horas y media, los cinco finalistas: Yazaira López de Puerto Rico, Fernando Corona de Miami, José Enrique Poyato de Miami, Virginia Stille de Houston y Danny Montejo de Chicago demostraron una vez más su gran talento y evolución durante esta ardua competencia.
“Nos enorgullece que ‘Va Por Ti’ pudiera servir efectivamente como una plataforma inspiradora para figurar talento hispano y demostrar lo que se puede lograr si se trabaja duro, se tiene dedicación y una gran convicción de cumplir los sueños”, comentó Alberto Ciurana, presidente de Programación y Contenido de Univision Communications, Inc.
En el show, los capitanes Dulce María y El Dasa regresaron para presenciar la gran final junto al capitán ganador Jencarlos Canela, ellos estuvieron presentes para apoyar y ver a Fernando quedar de segundo lugar en la competencia y a Danny ocupar el tercer lugar. Poyato fue el primer eliminado de la noche quedando en quinta posición, seguido por Virginia en cuarto lugar.
“Va Por Ti” también contó con la presencia del padrino del programa, primer invitado especial y juez, el gran Pepe Aguilar. El ícono Miguel Bosé, quien anteriormente se presentó y fue juez durante la temporada, regresó al escenario para un dúo especial con Aguilar.
Todos los finalistas compartieron el escenario por última vez con grandes figuras. Hubo cinco dúos: Fernando junto al cantante regional mexicano, Bobby Pulido; Poyato junto al actor y cantante Mane de la Parra; Danny junto a María León del grupo de música pop Playa Limbo; Virginia junto a la actriz y cantante Edith Márquez; y Yazaira con la también actriz y cantante María José.
La reconocida banda de música regional mexicana Los Tigres del Norte también participó de la gran final como juez invitado y compartieron en el escenario con los últimos cuatro finalistas durante una ronda en homenaje a su música.
En una noche de emociones, bailes y hasta lágrimas, la concursante Paloma Carrasco de Chicago regresó al escenario luego de ser eliminada en la ronda semi-final para recibir un reconocimiento por su entrega, talento y disciplina de manos de Alejandra Guzmán.
Conducido por la carismática presentadora de televisión Galilea Montijo, “Va Por Ti” es una coproducción de Televisa y Univision. El programa comenzó con 28 aspirantes dividiéndose en tres equipos liderados por tres artistas populares de la música latina, los capitanes: Dulce María, El Dasa y Jencarlos Canela. La ardua competencia contó con un panel de jueces célebres encabezado por Alejandra Guzmán y Larry Hernández, más un artista de fama internacional como juez invitado semanalmente.
