Miami, FL – AUGUST 28 – TelevisaUnivision proudly celebrates the continued success of Noticias Univision Digital Division, which once again has been recognized for excellence in investigative journalism. The acclaimed multimedia digital series Exposed (Campo Tóxico) has earned two additional honors, further cementing its reach and impact.
The series, produced jointly by Noticias Univision Digital and Investigate Midwest, was recently honored with two prestigious recognitions: the 2025 Edward R. Murrow Award in the Network TV/Digital Category and the In-Depth Journalism Award from the Inter American Press Association (Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa).
The award-winning investigation, Exposed (Campo Tóxico), reveals the hidden dangers of pesticide exposure among farmworkers in Florida, Michigan, and North Carolina. It features two powerful stories: ‘Born Without Arms or Legs – How Carlos Candelario Lives with the Consequences of Pesticide Exposure’ and ‘Exposed: Latino Farmworkers Risk Their Health Working Under the Threat of Pesticide Exposure.’ Through the voices of migrant workers such as José Soria, Hortencia Ramírez, and Carlos Candelario the series highlights the devastating health consequences of pesticide exposure and the urgent need for stronger protections for America’s agricultural workforce.
Created by the talented Noticias Univision Digital team of journalists and visual storytellers Patricia Clarembaux, Federica Narancio, and Esther Poveda, the project also counted on the collaboration of Javier Figueroa, Amaya Verde, Andrés Rivera, Adriana Loeff, and several others. Together, they brought to life an investigation that combines rigorous reporting with compelling visual storytelling to amplify the experiences of underrepresented communities.
With these latest honors, Exposed (Campo Tóxico) has now earned a total of eight major awards, adding to a growing list of accolades that includes a National Emmy Award (2025) for Feature Story in Spanish, a National Gracie Award (2025), First Place at the Pictures of the Year International 2025 Awards, and three Best of Photojournalism 2025 Awards from the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA). These recognitions underscore TelevisaUnivision’s unwavering commitment to impactful, high-quality journalism that shines a light on urgent social issues.

MIAMI – 28 de agosto – TelevisaUnivision celebra el éxito continuo de la división Noticias Univision Digital, que una vez más ha sido galardonada por su excelencia en el periodismo investigativo. La aclamada serie digital Campo Tóxico (Exposed), transmitida en multimedia, ha obtenido dos premios adicionales, lo que cementa aún más su alcance e impacto.
La serie, producida conjuntamente por Noticias Univision Digital e Investigate Midwest, ha sido recientemente reconocida con dos prestigiosos premios: el 2025 Edward R. Murrow Award en la Categoría de Televisión/Digital y el Premio Periodismo de Profundidad de la Sociedad Interamericana de Prensa.
La galardonada investigación Campo Tóxico (Exposed) revela los peligros ocultos de la exposición a los pesticidas entre los trabajadores agrícolas de Florida, Michigan y Carolina del Norte. La serie presenta dos impactantes historias: “Nacido sin brazos ni piernas: cómo Carlos Candelario vive con las consecuencias de la exposición a los pesticidas” y “Exposed: los trabajadores agrícolas latinos arriesgan su salud trabajando bajo la amenaza de la exposición a los pesticidas”. A través de las voces de trabajadores migrantes como José Soria, Hortencia Ramírez y Carlos Candelario, la serie destaca las devastadoras consecuencias para la salud de la exposición a los pesticidas y la urgente necesidad de reforzar las medidas de protección para los trabajadores agrícolas de Estados Unidos.
