The four-episode docuseries dives into the fascinating world of the Capsicum annuum, better known as the chili pepper, one of the most iconic gifts from the Americas to the world. With a bold, irreverent, and profoundly human approach, AL CHILE travels across the globe — from Mexico City to India, including stops in the United States, Jalisco, Sonora, Puebla, Oaxaca, and Yucatán — to explore how this ingredient has influenced cultures and cuisines worldwide, while also examining its historical impact and enduring legacy.
Hosted by El Vitor, the iconic and flamboyant character portrayed by actor Adrián Uribe, the show blends real interviews with chili growers, chefs, researchers, and enthusiasts with a healthy dose of humor and satire. Through his unmistakable style, El Vitor serves as the charismatic guide on this spicy journey, uncovering surprising and eye-opening stories from ancient Aztecs who used chili as a weapon to today’s spice fanatics who can’t eat nachos without jalapeños.
AL CHILE is more than a show about food; it celebrates the chili pepper as a symbol of identity, resilience, and passion.
